Seems like only yesterday
That I saw you smile and say
That your love for me would last for all my years.
Now the sadness enters in
Where the happiness had been
You have left me and my eyes are filled with tears.

When I'm walking down the street
Many people that I meet
Stop and ask me how I'm doing on this day.
I will always say I'm fine
But this weary heart of mine
Lets me know that it is really not that way.

I was left here all alone
When our Savior took you home
And I cannot seem to find a happy smile.
It's so hard to let you go
Though you're better off I know
Still my heart is aching for you all the while.
