Beware the Pumpkins on Halloween

by gramalot8

Come little goblins to my pumpkin patch
Choose your favorites with lots of care.
Take them home, get the carving knife out
Perched on the porch; they're ready to scare.

Carved faces of Dracula stare back at you;
Spooky carvings of a flying bat.
Drooping nostrils.... eyeballs that shine;
Witches on brooms with a lopsided hat.

With Jack-o-lanterns lighting their way,
Children scream aloud from the fright.
Running house to house for goodies galore,
Trick or Treat is the call of the night.

As the clock strikes midnight on Hallow's Eve
Beware the mischief that soon begins.
Jack-o-lanterns sway and dance;
Their carved up smiles now devilish grins.

They come alive with ghoulish glee,
Howling and singing songs of fright.
Happy to indulge in a brief taste of life,
They celebrate throughout the night.

When dawn arrives in a bright new day,
And carved out pumpkins shrivel and die.
Look closely, my friend, and you will see
A devilish twinkle in every eye.

Muahahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhh..............
