Ode To A Rose

Ode To A Rose

In white, oh' rose you are the light,
Your dress of life in pure delight,
The isle of innocence, in truth you bask,
The words 'I do' within your task,
Purity, longevity, grooms the bride,
In secret tears you gently hide,
A bouquet thrown, one heart then next,
Soon time again for love's great test,

Oh' rose of white; virtue in flight,
Tonight so right, till dawn's grey light,

In red, my rose, your passion wears well,
Your smile, your lips, your secrets to tell,
Madame Delbard, Scarlet in view,
Kardinal, and Lincoln, Cia Maria too,
Courage, elegance, unblemished pride,
Caresses carnal senses with a smile so wide,
Chocolate the essence, silky the sheet,
Always ready for the occasion you meet,

Oh' roses red, though tears be shed,
Your world full of secrets from that whispering bed

In blue, my rose, many doubt your verse,
You write your lines, yet prose your curse,
Mystery, speculation, no signs of trust,
You live your life in questions of lust,
You cry with rain as you sigh in vain,
Impossible dream as you writhe in pain,
They think you false, not of nature's line,
unlike your sisters, thin words do not define,

Oh' rose so blue, your heart beats so true
You're blamed and shamed because your colour is blue.
