Words can say many things if said from the heart
As I Sit Here And Write To You
by A TARNISHED KNIGHT
On this lonely keyboard
I type these lonely words Echoing voices and visions Of once I saw and heard First words of our children Love of their mother too Now echo in my mind As I sit and write to you Funny how the memories Of such a distant past Seem to always haunt me Damn, time has gone so fast Was it not that long ago We were young and full of life Remember well that moment Asking you to be my wife All you did was nod your head So excited you couldn't speak I didn't know what to think As tears were running down your cheek We married on an autumn day Trees filled with leaves of red and brown The luster from their colors Enhanced your beauty in your gown Years have past so quickly Our children have all grown Grand kids on my knee I play now with them alone Know you're here in spirit Can feel you close by me Show grand kids your picture Tell them how we used to be All I have are memories now Of your smile and your kiss Really never knew how much Your loving I would miss On this lonely keyboard I'm typing lonely words Echoing voices and visions That once I saw and heard |
