Dreaming of her lover

All You Have To Do Is Dream

by A TARNISHED KNIGHT

She softly outlined his face with her fingers.
Hoping he would feel her touch.
Feel the aura of the love she has for him
that is radiating from her body.
But alas his eyes do not open.
His heart does not beat.
For he is only a dream.

A dream that comes to her every night.
Wakes her from her slumber.
For he is far away on another shore.
Though every night
when she closes her eyes
he comes to her.
Lies along side her.
She can feel his warmth.
Hear his heart beat.
His breath exciting the passion in her loins

Now the sun is rising.
The warmth that she feels is not his.
It's the suns rays upon her skin.
The heart beat of her knight,
now replaced with
the lonely rhythm of her own.
What was once his breath upon her body,
now is just a gentle breeze
on a warm summer's day.

Then a smile comes upon her lips.
For she knows that when the sun
again hides behind the mountain,
the last rays replaced by a twinkle
of a faraway star,
she will lay her head
upon her pillow.

Her eyes again will close.
She will feel neither
the warmth of the sun.
The beat of her heart.
Or the gentle breeze
flirting across her limbs.

It will be the warmth
radiating from his body.
The beating of his heart.
Will be his breath
that is flirting across her body.
Making her passion flow.

For deep inside she knows,
that one day,
however long that may be,
she will awake
to find him lying there
along side of her.

Feel his warmth.
Feel his heart beat.
Feel his breath upon her skin
Feel his passion grow
