Abiding between The Rock and a hard place
Walking the Walk
by Jewell McChesney
There comes a time when Truth prevails
no matter what the circumstance for faith o'ercame all certain pain and stumbling now the newest dance To some each day is joy alive and trials come in even stride while others struggle just to cope their life a roller coaster ride My life may have its ups and downs but fortitude precedes my goal while gratitude becomes my aim an inner peace has made me whole My home is not on "Easy street" Denial never rules my thoughts Choices come and choices go of how to handle any lot When others criticize my life their lying tongues accuse to ploy Words become like stones now cast a sad attempt to steal my joy They do not know the stones they throw are stepping stones to get me through one by one I've rearranged a path toward a better view My weapons are not carnal knives I speak in words of life and love A ready two edged sword, my tongue My hope their hearts are drawn above To rise above all pain and strife when anger tries to manifest is needed purpose in our souls to bring you to a life of rest My hope is that when trials come a smile remains upon my face for my reward is inner joy between The Rock and a hard place |
