A little fairy's problem

A Fairy's Tears

by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell

Timmy and Tommy Mouse went for a stroll,
With Freddy the fox cub and Millie the Mole.
They hadn't gone far when they heard a sad cry,
they all stopped and listened - it came from nearby.

Tommy looked round, "Is anyone there?"
They waited and then, from out of nowhere,
came such a sad fairy, with tears on her face,
"I've done something silly and I'm in disgrace."

They all sat down, and the fairy, Bluebell,
told them her story, "I've made a bad spell!
Wherever I travel, my wand comes along,
I meant it to help but it went badly wrong."

Millie then asked her, "What spell did you cast?
Is it possible that the magic won't last?"
"My wand isn't working the way that it should,
And every nice spell I make comes out no good!"

Bluebell looked so sad as she told of the spell,
"I wiggled my wand to make Santa's elves well.
They all had the flu, but I've made them worse
Instead of a well wish, my wand sent a curse!!"

Freddy the fox cub held her wand in his paw,
He looked at it, turned it, then looked once more.
"Your wand isn't working because it's been bent!"
Once it was straightened, the bad spells all went!
