rhymed verse for a child
Don't Argue with Mom

Mom, must I stay inside
when raindrops start to fall?
I want to play outside
and run and kick the ball
Sweetie, you’ll catch a cold
then, those sniffles and cough
You must do as you’re told
you’ve played outside enough
But Mom, the rain is great
getting wet is not bad
I won’t stay out too late
staying in makes me sad
Sorry, it has to be
you have plenty of games
Curl up and watch TV
you’ll stay in when it rains
But, I like the fresh air
even with all the rain
It’s better wet out there
indoors drives me insane
I don’t want to argue
You’re not listening at all
While I truly love you
you drive me up the wall |
