Looking in
Breathe Just Breathe
by Jaxpoet
The lovely little lady said "breathe, my friend, just breathe
Just take it in and let it out and set your mind at ease". My knuckles flashed so whitely. My face was crimson red. Anxiety was spinning hard and racing through my head So I set back and listened as she spoke so knowingly Of love and life and happiness and things that set you free She asked so many questions of all that I had done Of how I grew and what I knew and how I made my fun. We spoke for many hours on my complicated life Of love and life and happiness, of pain and rain and strife And then the lady said again please" breathe, my friend, just breathe Just take it in and let it out and set your mind at ease" I listened to her closely, enraptured by her spell On how to shed anxiety and climb out of this hell She said to focus inwardly to focus yes on me Not to be distracted and just let others be I followed so contentedly to all that she had said And long at last I've done the task, and cleaned my cluttered head No more will I be anxious, for what all others do I'll simply focus in on me and never more be blue And yes I will remember those words she said to me Just calming words of wisdom that at last set me free The words they ring so clearly, please "breathe, my friend, just breathe Just take it in and let it out and set your mind at ease" |
