Poem
Stagecoach
by dejohnsrld (Debbie)
Stagecoach
As the darkness encroaches A blackened stagecoach approaches To take me away To where, I can’t say
Long days of doom Followed by nights of gloom
Some days the words don’t appear Writing paper soaked with tear Unable to gather my thought
Afraid my mind is fraught
Hating the darkness, the pain Hanging on ‘til light is here again
Each time I think will be the last I should know from the past Tired, but cannot sleep Through swollen eyes tears seep
Hoping against hope I’ll be able to cope Until these feelings go away And at last, there is sun in my day
Today, I must confess Life seems meaningless
As the darkness encroaches A blackened stagecoach approaches I beg you to take me away Anywhere other than where I am today |
