Nature's Serenade

by pattipac

White dove glides on silver wings
Sea gulls dive for fishy things
Ocean waves roll gently in
Kiss the shore then back again
Children's laughter on wind plays
a song of nature's serenade

Majestic mountains pierce the sky
Icy stream o'er rocks flow by
Towering trees shade the ground
Where all God's creatures abound
Robins sing at break of day
A lovely nature's serenade

Winds caress the rolling plain
Where grows sweet golden grain
God's gift of life-giving bread
O'er which daily prayers are said
While seeds to feed the world are laid
Wind's breathes a nature's serenade

Desert barren and unkept
Where swirling sand is daily swept
Blistering heat consumes each day
As painted desert blooms on display
Such glorious memories dance and sway
to a blessed nature's serenade

Natures Serenade contest entry

America the beautiful! This is my tribute to it's natural beauty. Beauty that plays like a nature's serenade in my heart. The definition of unkept is broken. I used this word in describing the desert. Daily winds prevent it from ever staying the same from one day to the next.It is ever changing. A special thanks to Keri Harrish for the use of her beautiful artwork.
