Writing outside the box
Thinking of Neverland

The afternoon dawn decided to visit the evening. She wore her finest colors: yellow, red, and green Brought her singers, robins and cardinals, And a bottle of winks from the sun She perfumed it all with Traces of mints and bluebells And the evening was glad. Opened her hold And dispersed the gold ... Both knowing this could be The only time to unite. To celebrate, Angels unwrapped their wings Wider Monks chanted their prayers louder Fairies said, "Just like in Neverland!" Wise wizards Nodded in assent... And frogs croaked, Softer... Astronomers scratched their heads Meteorologists couldn't comprehend... When the night arrived, Astonished, she was, Received by a bash Of lights, colors, and smiles. And she was glad And called her stars To get the party started. They strung a jolly bright rattle Like a sparkling meteor That ascended all the way To the sky. And seven shy sun-capped mountain peaks Applauded At the feast. When people woke up They wondered If this could be Earth's Very Last Day. But it was not |
