Sometimes it does
but more often not
Like lively kids
the pounds keep running
out of my reach
Like rushing water
they flow free
to cracks and gaps
Leaving me with just
pennies

* There is an English saying: "Take care of the pennies and the pound will take care of itself." There is some truth in it, but more often than not, we keep 'losing' money and feel we have no control over our finances. At least I feel that way today:)
* Between us (Indonesians), money is often described as water, flowing too freely.
