Recovery from a Mental Illness

Recovery from Mental Illness
~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~ Deep, dark, depths of depression At one time was all I could see Not realizing at that point Recovery was a possibility ~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~ Hopelessness was my daily routine Too numb to even cry I lived in depression's shadow As life was passing me by ~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~ Emptiness had filled my heart About living, I didn't care It seemed far too impossible To recover from way down there ~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~ Many long, dark, days of lingering Filled with sadness and despair Now, I thank God each and every day I no longer spend my days there ~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~ |
In many cases mental illness can be very well controlled with no recent changes in psychiatric status. This is considered recovery.
