Is History repeating itself?
Clamor for Change
by Catherin Elizabet Belle
The populace clamored for change
The summons rang throughout the land The itchy fungus rode the range The clamor sang from every band. Change! Change! Change! We must have change! Romans razing European land Found death in avarice and lust. England forced debtors from their land Many starving souls beg bread's crust. Patriots warring with England Deny taxation's evil thrust. Spiritual freedom in prayer grand The pilgrims bowed in reverent trust. German woes begged a helping hand As Hitler's marionettes broke trust. Cuba's isle whispered to the sand And tyrant Castro ruled with gust. Angry words span our native land While discontent dances in dust. Time reaches toward the midnight hand As Noxious echoes ravage trust. Satan's dominions rape this land Stealing right to bear arms unjust; Denying rights to bless our land Raises a free men's valiant thrust; Pride of country touches the sand Patriot's throbbing heart robust; With love grand United we stand, God's guidance democracy's must. Greed and lust a slippery slope, Deadly virus rapes freedom's range. The sin of avarice stealing hope, The Stars and stripes tattered from change. Change! Change! Change! What is the price of change? |

History is beneficial if society learns from it. Yet, invariably the lessons to be learned seem to fall on deaf ears. Thank you flitsch for the use of "Turmoil."
