Beleiving What We Don't See Before It Materializes

-Faith- (The Gift of God)

by InHisownwrite

Left on the orphanage steps
In the snow
Mother on the lam
Father on the go
Wrapped in a blanket
Baby in a box
Mouse keeping warm
Chewing on her socks
A tiny nibbling motion
Is all the baby feels
Just knowing someone's there
Soothes as it heals
Rescued though abandoned
Faith became her name
Adopted by the church
Grace restored her shame
Soft auburn hair
Freckled of face
Faith grew in beauty
And then she lost her place

Right up until her teenage years
Faith walked a path of light
But just like in the Garden
She began to lose her sight
She took her eyes off Jesus
And focused on shiny fruit
The slimy snake
Make no mistake
Was craftily in pursuit
Then Faith began to waiver
She walked the fallen path
Promised a loving shower of love
Instead she needed a bath
Tossing around her body
Like a baseball being thrown
Surrounded by a consuming crowd
Yet, lost and all alone
Scab covered arms
A sword pierced heart
Soaking in the gutter
Falling apart

Faith was found in an alley
On a soggy cardboard box
Rats running rampant
Chewing on her socks
A tiny nibbling motion
She no longer feels
Munching and gnawing
Her cracked dirty heels
Needle in her arm
Blood dripping down
The sewage of life
Clustered around
Grafitti on the walls
The Lord's name in vain
Baby in a box
Pouring down rain

The night before an angel came
And brushed Faith's auburn hair
He carried her to the Father's arms
The old Faith wasn't there
The Faith whose heart cried out to God
While drowning in her sin
That's the Faith the Father saw
No longer scabbed of skin
Rescued but never abandoned
God smiled on her face
Faith rested in the Father's love
A sinner saved by grace....

In this story Faith is a girl who learned the word of God at a very early age.
She too walked away, like so many of us do.
In her time of need God remained faithful.
Salvation is not a gift we earn.
It is a gift of God.
Inspired By: New American Standard Bible
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith
And that not of yourselves
It is the gift of God...
