Child's Pose
morning yoga hour when I bend down
as I pray with my body.

Serene escape to connect
with the rise and fall
of my breath.

As my forehead touches ground,
Earth arises to embrace me.

My arms stretch out in soft surrender
as I breathe out my internal race.

My hands open flower-like
and from my fingertips
crawl away
my daunting darkness

Inner twinge of emotion
as I quietly anchor my vessel's center.

Tantalizing belief of receiving grace
as mind, body, and soul emerges

into a magnificent fresh healed vase.
