Sweet Brown-eyed Susan
by adewpearl
I strolled into a field of flowers, a lemon yellow sea, and as I bent to pluck a stem, its blossom winked at me. I fought flirtation's pull at first -- I tend to be quite shy, but she beguiled me with the look she flashed from that brown eye. Dear brown-eyed Susan, be my love -- I'm held within your power, for in your gaze you've captured me, you wild, bewitching flower. |
