I fear that I drank my fill,
spilled it out of my gills;
on to the wooden floor,
the scene of slippage and gore.
There stood the painted lady,
I hit on her and she laughed at me;
her gaint Irishman called me a loozer.
Me! Thrown out on the streets a booser!
I pissed on and then off a leprechaun;
his shillelagh really put a hurting on.
Drums and bagpipes roar away in my head;
adding very much to my body's total dread.
I am now celebrating, by feeling green;
multiple images is all that I can glean.
The fat lady just sang it seems;
echoing through my head, her screems.
I hope by next year, I will reconointer,
following the stuanch Hiberian order!
Drink up! I tell you!
Celebrate before your life is through!

Author Notes
Please note: The poem is written as a performance piece; meant to be read liltingly, as if it is with an Irish accent, with broken english. Sort of in a drunk fashion. Think Irish music.
The photograph is from the latest Beer and Bacon that 98ROCK, Baltimore hosts at Looney's for St. Patrick's Day. Picture is Brett the Irish Comic and a Model that was painted by Jen the Body Painter. I sort of love the larger then life cartoon quality about this. Photo-shopped for, exposure, size and to eliminate the background. At the bottom of my profile page, there is another photographed to illustrate the lengths people will go through. In this case it was not only photo-shopped for the above, but for effect as well.
Personally, I think at the event that I did drink my fill, but I couldn't runith over because I was doing photography, had a mile in a half walk to get to downtown and to present my favorite Deli with their poems.
The only party events that I ever go to are the Beer and Bacons as they are good fun with good people and their is seldom a problem.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is an Irish-Catholic fraternal organization. Members must be Catholic and either Irish born or of Irish descent. Its largest membership is now in the United States, where it was founded in New York City in 1836. Its name was adopted by groups of Irish immigrants in the United States,[1] its purpose to act as guards to protect Catholic Churches from anti-Catholic forces in the mid 19th century, and to assist Irish Catholic immigrants, especially those who faced discrimination or harsh coal mining working conditions. Many members had a background with the Molly Maguires. It became an important focus of Irish-American political activity. [From The Wikipedia.com] There aslo sponser or particapate many of the Irish festivities and parades. The are the establishing sponsors of Baltimore's origional St. Patrick's day parade. [Parade handout that contained the history of the parade.]
