An English Sonnet
Alvin Thomas Ethington, Sr.
by AlvinTEthington
A paean to my father
My father was a kind and wondrous man
Such glorious amazing stories told Of this humane good man, part of a clan; His hair was white; his heart was solid gold. One could not find a finer gentleman-- He lived the Christian life in word and deed. He helped the poor and needy his life span; My father taught to love; he did succeed. Food given those who did not have to plead; The money loaned in charity to those Poor abject souls who had yet to succeed; My father's Southern grace, donating clothes. He integrated black and brown and white For in his heart he always saw God's Light. |
