The Wall

It was snowing again. He had been killed in the jungles of Vietnam. They said the pain would get better... they lied. Work had saved her sanity. She had volunteered at the Veteran's Hospital to keep her mind busy.
His body had never been found. Traced letters on a wall were all that was left except his memories.
She had not noticed the tall man.
"I was the last person to see him alive."
"David and I had a pact."
Jake leaned over gently and kissed Grace on the lips.
"I was to give you his last kiss."
