The Trump administration rolled out its zero-tolerance policy in the U.S.-Mexico border, hundreds of migrant children were separated from their families. As those children were shuttled around the country in late 2017, their parents were swiftly detained or deported, with few records taken by the government about where they went or how to contact them. It was only in 2019, after a federal judge ordered officials to hand their names over to immigration lawyers, that the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups tried in earnest to begin reuniting them. On Tuesday, those lawyers submitted a court filing with a grim update: They have not yet been able to reach the parents of 545 separated children. About two-thirds of those parents are believed to be somewhere in Central America without their children.

(CNN) Joe Biden is pledging to form a task force that will focus on reuniting the 545 immigrant children who've been separated from their families.

There is also a hint (hidden in the category selection) that mights and maybes could refer to dangerous speculations in our current world.

Author Notes I pray for all the people we lost. I know all the storms are not behind us but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We are losing a lot of people and we will lose more. We face months of fighting the covid virus but we have several vaccinations. President Trump was the worse president in American History and a terrible person, I am happy that in three weeks he will be gone and we will get some normalcy. If we all do our parts by wearing a mask, keeping a distance, avoid large gatherings, and washing our hands ... we can fight this invisible enemy. We can do it!

Endurance

By Gypsy Blue Rose

seasons' changes come and go -
mountain aged with grace remains

Author Notes 3,000-ft high monument El Capitan is protected by a bill signed by President Abe Lincoln in 1857, creating a trust to protect this beauty so future generations can enjoy this natural wonder. Folklore and history has it that if you look at this side of the mountain in a certain light, you can see the profile of a old woman's face with tears. The Ahwahnee Indians lived here before settlers arrived. According to folklore, one of the chief's young daughters fell in love with a warrior. The two lovers wanted to marry. War broke out and the Indian maiden's betrothed went off to war- and never returned. As the years passed, she became old. Her heart was broken, her face, aged and wrinkled from looking for him from the top of this mountain in the hot sun. One day she lept 3,000 feet to her death - to join her love forever.
