He watched her learning her routine, waiting for the right moment to put her out of her misery. She went through her day, and unaware of what he'd in store for her. He watched her wave goodbye to her children as they left for school, and followed her through her day. He knew her sadness and despair. "I see hear hiding her despair with that phony smile and laugh", he said to himself. He knew deep down inside she was miserable, and knew why. It is the character of the species, all women are miserable.

He knew all women wanted to be like a man. He remembered his psych class in college, and thought, Freud was right, for all women had penis envy, and wanted to be more like a man. Women are educated to have a man take care of them, therefore marriage is the reason women are alive. A women who is not married, is a women who is in misery, and needs to be free. He watched her and knew he would bring her peace, so her soul would rest. Her presence in life is misery, and not peace, and it is his responsibility to change this.

He has been watching her for days, and with each passing day he knows her despair grows, and he must set her free. He feels her pain, and it consumes him with determination to free her. Finally, a break, she is home early to prepare for her daughter's birthday party. The delivery person just left, he can now make his move to free her. He walks up to the door, anticipation and desire is filling him with excitement. She answers the door, he pushes his way in with a knife in his hands, and she falls on the living room floor.

She stares at him, her eyes show she recognizes him, fear and confusion began to fill her. She cries out "No, please don't hurt me. You loved me once, and I loved you. You don't want to do this. This is not you."

He stares at her with passion and lust. "No one has ever told me they loved me, why you?"

She looks up at him with tears running down her face. "Because we loved each other once, don't you remember?"

"No, I do not remember!" he shouted. "Why do you insist you know me, because you don't, or I would not have come to free you?"

Her voice was trembling. "You don't remember me? What has happened to you?" She did not understand, it was clear to her he was out of his mind.

"Enough of your small talk, I am here to free your soul." He turned her over, tied her hands behind her back. Turning her back over, lifting her skirt, and removes her panties.

She is whimpering all the while he undoes his belt buckle and unzips his pants. She knew what he was about to do, and realized she was going to die. All she could think about was who is going to take care of her children, Tommy and Claire.

He proceeds to fulfill his sexual desires on her, after he is satisfied, he kills her. He slits her throat from the left ear to just under the right check. He cuts off her left ring finger and stuffs it in her mouth. He admires his work of art; he knew he had set her free. He smiles at the deep cut on her throat, the blood pool on the floor. The glisten of the blood on the knife fills him with accomplishment. He smiles at the blood that dripped on her lips from the severed finger in her mouth, "I am craftsman" he laughs. His art showed with every droop of blood that was spilled. He lifts the knife up to his mouth to taste her blood, and begins to wonder why she believed she knew him. Just as he was getting a high from what he had done, there was a noise from the yard as he heard her daughter call to her.

"Mom, I am home." Claire walked in the door and saw her mother lying dead on the floor, and froze. She saw him run out the back door; she started to scream as her brother came in the door. Tommy was shocked at what he saw, and calls the police to report his mother's murder. He went over to his mother's body to hold her, then goes to his sister to comfort her, but she is hysterical, and keeps saying, "It was him."

Monroe Questions his sanity

"Detective Monroe, what is your twenty?" Detective Eddie Monroe was trying to ignore the radio.
Bob, the bartender & owner of Casey's Bar & Grill, looked at Eddie Monroe. "Hey Eddie it sounds like the station wants you."
Detective Monroe looked up at Bob. "I know, Bob, but I haven't been able to sit down and chill since the first girl was found murdered."
" Monroe! Are you there?"
"Monroe here, what's up?"
"Where are you?"
"I am eating lunch; you do know what that is, don't you?"
"Yes sir!", The officer sounded like a scolded child. "Sir we have another one."
"Where is the crime scene this time?" Monroe said in disappointment.
"In a home in the Ariz subdivision; the victim is a mother of two."
"Thanks, be there in ten minutes."
A pause overshadowed the radio, "Sir we have a suspect this time".
"Good, maybe we can close this case and life can return to normal." Detective Monroe knew that was a statement of false hope, because a detective's life is never normal.
Eddie left Casey's Bar & Grill, got into his 1969 cherry red Ford Mustang, and started the engine. She started right up, "Purrs like a kitten". The Mustang was Eddie's pride and joy, and he could leave the world behind when he was at the wheel, but not this time. Detective Monroe could not get the picture of what was waiting for him at the crime scence out of his mind at the crime scene. The Mustang pulled in to the driveway of 1669 Ariz Road, Ariz subdivision.
"Detective Monroe, over here," Officer Chad waved him over.
"Where is the suspect, officer?"
"Over here, and you will not believe this," Chad stated. "The suspect is the woman's fifteen year old son."
Monroe stopped dead in his tracks, stared at Chad for a moment in disbelieve. The boy was sitting in the police cruiser. Eddie looked at the boy and the blood on his shirt, which was probably from the victim. "What is your name, son?" The boy looked him in the eye. His blue eyes had the look of innocence. He looked like the boy next door with his clean cut straight blonde hair, Monroe thought, this has to be a mistake.
"My name is Tommy Sewer." The boy paused. "How is my sister? Where is she? Where is Clair?" The boy is not acting like he just killed someone and was caught.
Officer Chad stepped in front of Monroe to answer the boy. "She is at the hospital." Chad turned toward Detective Monroe. "We had to sedate the girl. She was hysterical."
Monroe looked at the boy, "Tell me what happened, son?"
Tommy looked at Monroe with confusion. "Don't I know you?"
"I am Detective Eddie Monroe, Homicide."
Monroe turned toward Officer Chad, "Take me to the body." Eddie just knew what he what he would see. Chad led him into the house, to the living room floor, where the woman's body was lying. There was a pool of blood surrounding the body.
"Has forensics been here yet?"
"They are on their way, sir!"
"Yeah, same M.O. The woman's throat was cut from the left ear to just under the right cheek. The autopsy will also show she was sexually assaulted, and no DNA will be found." Monroe stated as a matter of fact.
"I have never seen a dead body." Chad stated.
"Well Chad as you see the left ring finger has been severed and stuffed in the victim's mouth." After careful examination Chad noticed visible blood drops hanging from the finger's tendons, and the blood pool underneath the victim's head, and realized the brutality of this murder.
"I am sure the autopsy will tell us the same man we have been looking for the last six month also committed this murdered." Monroe was probing the body with such precision; then his face turned white. Eddie shouted in disbelief "Oh my god!"
"What is it Detective?"
"I can't believe what I 'm seeing, it's Vicky." Monroe was horrified.
"You know this woman Sir?"
"Yes but I haven't seen her in years. No wonder the kid recognized me."
An older man came up to Monroe to get his attention. "I am looking for Detective Monroe."
"I'm Monroe."
"Let me introduce myself I am Carl James with forensics."
"What happened to Joe?"
"His wife had complications with her pregnancy, so he took some leave."
"Okay; well here is your victim, thirty-six year old white female with throat cut and left ring finger severed and stuffed in her mouth. Also you will find sexual assault."
"I will have the forensic reports for you tonight, Detective."
"Thank you Carl and welcome aboard to one of the worst cases the Melview Police Department has ever had."
After leaving the crime scene, Monroe headed back to his car, intending to question Tommy's sister at the hospital. On his way, Eddie could not get the picture out of his mind of Vicky's body. "I can't believe the woman I almost married, was murdered, or that her son is her killer, and the killer of those other women." He arrived at the hospital, found out Claire Sewer was heavily sedated, and could not be questioned. Monroe decided to go have dinner and a drink; it was already six pm.
Detective Monroe was at his desk looking over the forensic reports of all four victims, then leaned back in his chair, and noticed all the women were sexual assaulted, but there is no DNA found, it was nine pm. "Where does the time go", he thought to himself. The phone rang "Monroe Homicide."
"Sir this is Officer Johnston we have another murder."
"Where is it this time?"
"This one is Behind Casey's Bar & Grill."
"Who called it in?"
"Bob Hart the bartender; He was taking out the trash when he discovered the body."
"Okay Johnston, I am on my way."
While driving to the murder scene, Eddie realized that this clears the kid, because Tommy was in jail. Monroe arrived at Casey's, moved his way through the crowd of onlookers, and went to the back of the building.
"Eddie you're here."
"Hey Bob how did you find the body?"
"Well after you left I took out the trash."
"After I left, that was this afternoon." Monroe sounded confused.
"No Eddie, you were here tonight, don't you remember?" Monroe was confused; why would Bob say he was at the bar this evening when he was at the station; was he so upset about this afternoon that he walked around in a daze? The doctor did say that his head injury he received last year might give him some blackouts in the future. Eddie thought no I remember being at the station all day and night until the call came in at nine.
"Hey Eddie, are you alright?" Bob appeared concerned.
"Well not really." Monroe was beginning to doubt himself. "Officer Johnston, have the forensic report on my desk by nine am tomorrow morning. There's something I need to do." Officer Johnston and Bob looked at each other as Monroe drove off.
Monroe decided to look at every place a body was found, and began to question if he was not involved in some way. As he visited each place, he questioned his knowledge of the area and the women that were murdered. These women were all between thirty-five and forty-five years old. Four of them Eddie has never seen before, and the fifth victim he almost married. These women were not similar in any way, except for their age and they were all single. Monroe began to have suspicions about his own sanity. "I could not have killed those women," he said, attempting to control the overwhelming emotions. Eddie decided to just go home and mull this over.

The alarm blared at seven am, forcing Monroe to sit up in bed, he began to think about the day before and what Bob had said about him being at Casey's that night. The phone rang, and after a moment Eddie decided to pick it up, "'ello!" Monroe was still a little groggy. It was Bob checking up on Eddie. Bob and Eddie have been friends since High School and have always looked out for each other.

"Eddie, you okay?"

"Yeah Bob, I am fine."

"You weren't yourself when you the left the bar last night, what's up?

"Bob I am wondering if I had anything to do with those women being killed."

"Eddie stop being silly, of course you had nothing to do with the killings."

"No really Bob, I think I am having blackouts from my injury last year. The doctor did say it could happen. What if I murdered those women during a blackout?"

"Eddie please stop torturing yourself, of all the people I know you are incapable of murder."

"I like to think so, but you said I was at the bar this afternoon, and Vicky's murder, it just too many coincidences." There was a strange tone in Eddie's voice.

"Look Eddie I am coming over, don't leave." Monroe hung up from Bob still questioning his state of mind.
Eddie wonders if he is losing his mind. He wondered if the head injury received last year was causing he blackouts, he remembers the head injury he received when he was knocked out during a collar. Could that injury be causing him to black out? Thinking about the last few weeks, something clicked. Eddie called the hospital to find out how Claire was. "Let me speak to Claire Sewer's doctor please."

Monroe was on hold for a while then the phone clicked; "This is Doctor Maxwell, how can I help you?"

"This is Detective Monroe I need some information on Claire Sewer, how is she?"

"She is doing just fine, she is resting and her psyche evaluation was normal, she will be released this afternoon."

"Thank you for your time Doctor Maxwell, goodbye." As soon as Monroe hangs up the phone, it rings.

Bob knocked on Monroe's door. "Come in Bob, I am expecting you." There was a tone in Monroe's voice that was different from this morning. Bob opened the door and was greeted by two uniform officers reading him his rights and applying handcuffs on his wrist.
"Hey Eddie what is up with this?"

"You are under arrest for the murder of five women."

"Eddie! Have you completely snapped?"

"No I am completely sane. No Thanks to you." Monroe was angry. "After I called the hospital to check up on Claire Sewer, the sub shop down the street called to let me know I had left my wallet there last night." Bob's expression changed to fear. "If I was at the sub shop last night, then I was not at the bar."

"Eddie you are crazy, and grabbing at straws." Bob's voice was cracking. "I saw you at the bar last night. I know that was you. I am innocent; I did not kill those women."

"I started to trace my whereabouts and the time the homicides occurred, and I was in your bar sometime during that day. What did you put in my drink Bob, and why?" Monroe sounded angry as he confronted Bob about these questions. "You had me questioning myself, questioning if I was capable of murder, and you almost got away with it Bob."

"Eddie you are crazy, why would I do something like that". Bob could not believe what was happening at that moment. It was like something you read about in a story, and how and why was it happening to him at this moment.

"Well Bob I think after we search your apartment, we will find the proof we need, and that includes the murder weapon." Bob was silent, holding a look of fear and confusion. "I am sure after we get a sample of your DNA, and your fingerprints, they will link you to the murders." Eddie Monroe sounded so sure of himself. "Come on, Bob, confess. It will go a lot easier on you."

"I can not believe you are serious Eddie. You have known me for years, how can you even consider such a thing?" Bob was pleading with Eddie.

"I know you are guilty Bob, and I am going to prove it." Monroe said sternly.

Officer Chad came in the door, "Detective Monroe, an officer has been sent to the hospital to question the girl".

"Good". A smile came over Eddie's face. "You see Bob, we have a witness; the girl saw you when you killed her mother."

Bob looked start in to Eddie's eyes, "Did she say that?"

"Bob confess now and the DA will go easy on you, and I will get you the help you need."
"Eddie I am not confessing to something I did not do!"

"Take him downtown, and book him for five counts of murder." Monroe was proud of himself he believed he cracked the case.

The next morning as Monroe was going over the evidence of the case, and the phone rang. "Hello, Detective Monroe homicide."

"Detective Monroe this is Tommy Sewer."

"Well Tommy how is your sister?"

"That is why I am calling she is missing."

Monroe thought how could she be missing, and Bob was in jail, so what did it mean?

"Tommy what do you mean missing? How could she be missing?"

"She never came home from the hospital last night."

"Ok, Tommy I will check it out for you, and don't worry I will find her."
"Thanks Detective, I really appreciate it."

Monroe hung up the phone. "Detective Monroe we have the search warrant," said a nearby officer. Monroe looked over at him.

"Thanks, but I do not think we need it." Monroe realized Bob maybe innocent. Monroe called the hospital. "Can I speak with Dr. Maxwell please, this is Detective Monroe."

Maxwell got on the phone and sounded a little confused. "Detective Monroe what can I do for you?"

"Dr. Maxwell, can you tell me when Claire Sewer was released, and who did she leave the hospital with?"

"Why she was released last night and left with you, don't you remember?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Detective, I am sure, because you introduced yourself to me."

"Thank you Dr. Maxwell." Eddie hung up the phone, and started to remember that Officer Chad had said an officer was on the way to the hospital, but what officer, and why did Dr. Maxwell insist it was Eddie?
Monroe went looking for Officer Chad to question him about the officer that went to the hospital. He found Chad in the locker room. "Hey Chad, can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Yes sir."

"Last night you said an officer was on the way to the hospital, do you know who was going there?"

"I believe it was Showers, sir."

"Do you know where he is?"

"Yes sir, he is on patrol and due back to the station soon."

"Thanks Chad." Monroe went to the desk sergeant and asked him to have Officer Showers come see him when is done patrol.

Monroe kept thinking about what Dr. Maxwell had said. Eddie thought how the Doctor could say it was me, when I was not there. Could I be having black outs, he thought to himself. I need to call Dr. Larson immediately, if only to insure my sanity.

There was a knock on his office door. It was Officer Showers. "You wanted to see me sir?"

"Yes I did Showers, come on in."

"What can I do for you sir?"

"Well Officer Showers did you go to the hospital and question the Sewer girl?"

"Yes sir, but when I arrived there; her Doctor said she left with you sir."

"He did?" Eddie Monroe sounded confused.

"Yes sir, he did."

"Did you see me or my car there Showers?"

"No sir, I did not."

"Ok thank you Officer." Officer Showers left Eddie's office very confused, as was Eddie. Eddie kept wondering why everyone believes he took the Sewer girl out of the hospital. Showers himself, stated he did not see Eddie or his car at the hospital, so Eddie could not have taken her out.
Eddie picked up the phone, and called the police shrink.

"Hello"

", Dr. Larson, this is Eddie Monroe; I was a patent of yours up until six months ago."

"Yes, Mr. Monroe what can I do for you?"

"Well Doc I think I am having blackouts."

"You knew this could happen with the type of head injury you sustain, would you like to come in for an appointment."

"Yes, and the sooner the better."

"How about tomorrow at ten in the morning, is that ok?"

"Ok Doc, see you then."

Author Notes Detective Monroe continues to question his sanity and arrest a friend he thinks is guilt and drugging the Detective

"Detective Monroe, we have another one," the officer at the desk yelled into Eddie's office.
Eddie got into his car and drove to the scene. While in his car he kept going over and over in his mind the things people were saying about places they saw him and he doesn't remember being there. The detective pulled up to the crime scene. "So what do we have, and is it the same M.O.?"

"Same M.O., as you can see, the woman's throat was cut from the left ear to just under the right cheek, and the left ring finger has been severed and stuffed in the victim's mouth. I am sure that after the autopsy it well be found that the woman was sexually assaulted as well as murdered," Carl James said firmly.

"Is there anything different you can tell me Carl", Detective Monroe was hopping for more help with the case.

"Monroe, I would say that this victim has been dead twenty-four hours."

"Are you estimating Carl or are you sure?"

"By the body's rigor, I am pretty sure." Carl's voice was stern. "I will have a better time of death when I do the autopsy."

"Thanks Carl, and that means that Bob could still be the killer, because he was just incarcerated last night."

"Detective Monroe", called Chad.
"What is it Chad."

"I believe a fingerprint has been found", Chad said sternly

Monroe looked surprised. "Where and how?"

"The victim was wearing a solid gold bracelet that appears to have fresh fingerprints on it." Chad was waiting for Eddie's response.

"Well make sure that the fingerprints are not the victim's, have forensics check all the prints on the bracelet." Monroe's voice sounded angry, but why? Monroe wanted this case solved, and now. Eddie kept wondering could this be the break for the case, and could it prove Bob innocent or guilty or could it prove he is guilty.
"Carl, I want the autopsy report done quickly, and the fingerprints analyzed just as fast, if not faster. Chad I want to make sure we have the right suspect, and if not, I want to know who is killing these women. I am going back to the station and begin looking for the Sewer girl who went missing from the hospital." Detective Monroe climbed back into his car and headed toward the station. When the Detective arrived at the station, Tommy Sewer was waiting for him in his office. "Tommy why are you here?"

"Do you have any leads as to where my sister is?" Tommy was almost in tears.

"No Tommy, I am sorry I don't, but don't give up on me. I am giving it my all to find her."

"Ok, but with mom gone, Claire is all I have left, and I don't know if I can make it without her."

"Tommy, she will be found, now go home." Detective Monroe actually felt sorry for the boy and hoped he would be able to find his sister, but the only lead is she supposedly left with the Detective himself. Eddie still wondering about this, decided to retrace his alleged tracks to and from the hospital.
"Ok Detective Monroe, I will go home and wait for you to call." Tommy left Eddie's office and headed home to wait.
Detective Monroe gathered up his keys and headed out of the station, notifying the desk sergeant that he would be at the hospital. He got in his car and head toward the hospital, continuing to go over the last few days, and the murders. Something kept gnawing at his brain, like a vulture gnawing at road kill. "Where is Claire Sewer, why is she missing, and why does Dr. Maxwell insist she left the hospital with me."
When Detective Monroe arrived at the hospital, he went to the desk and requested to see Dr. Maxwell. "Detective Monroe, what can I do for you?"

"Dr. Maxwell, you remember me?"

"Yes Detective that Claire Sewer was released to."

"Well! Dr. Maxwell, that was not me, and I have never met you before."

"The gentlemen sure looked like you, and introduced himself as Detective Monroe."

"Can I view your security tapes? That was not me, and I would like to view the security tapes, and see who it was."

"Sure, I will have the tapes for you in just a minute."

"Thanks"
Dr. Maxwell left and went to security, retrieve the tapes, and left the detective at the front desk. He returned twenty minutes later with the tapes for the detective to review. "Here are the security tapes, but I don't understand why you don't remember me."

"The tapes will help with my memory Dr. Maxwell, thank you." Eddie left the hospital and headed back to the station to review the tapes. While reviewing them he received a shock, "I can't believe this". Eddie was horrified, because it was him on the tape leaving with Claire Sewer. He could not believe it, even though he saw it with his own eyes. "Am I going crazy?" He was glad he made that appointment with the shrink.
The phone rang, and it was Carl in forensics. "Monroe, there is something that has come to my attention in this case."
"What is it Carl?"

"Well after doing the autopsy on the women, and a rape kit to look for semen, and DNA, and as you know there was no semen found for DNA."

"Yes Carl the murdered wore a condom."

"No there is no sign of any lubricant, which a condom would leave in the vagina." Carl sounded surprised at what he had found.

"What are you saying Carl?"

"What I am saying is that the murderer didn't wear a condom, The victims were not penetrated with a penis."

"What about the fingerprints on the bracelet from the last victim we found?"

"The fingerprints on the bracelet belong to the victim and another women, possibly someone who know the victim. A Sally Chapman, she is in the system on a drunk and disorderly."

"Thanks Carl." Monroe was confused, decided to just go home, and figure this all out tomorrow after talking to the shrink; maybe he is going crazy. Monroe went to his car and drove home. When he arrived home, he took a hot shower, set the alarm, and just went to sleep. During the night, he tossed and turned, because he feared he had gone crazy, and is now a cold-blooded murder. Had Detective Eddie Monroe become a cold-blooded murder, and where was Claire Sewer, what did he do with her? These questions kept popping into his head, and he did not want the answer to be that he killed Claire, and the others.

Author Notes Detective Monroe has arrested Bob the Bartender, but another woman is murdered while Bob was in jail. Forensics has found fingerprints and something interesting about the sexual assault that occurred before the women were murdered.

The killer watched the news as it reported about the murder of a mother of two, and her thirteen-year-old daughter was in the hospital under sedation. The news reporter stated the woman's thirteen year old daughter caught a glimpse of the murderer. "I had set her free, released her from her misery, but her daughter may hinder my mission if she saw enough to identify me," the killer thought out loud.
He went to the hospital; asked for the girl's Dr. The nurse recognized him and went to retrieve Dr. Maxwell. Dr. Maxwell came out to the desk. "I am Dr. Maxwell, are you Detective Monroe?"

"Why yes I am." He answered with a sly tone.

"Claire Sewer can leave now; I will leave her in your custody."

"Thank you." He walked to her room and she was sleeping. He begins to wake her. While she is still groggy he dresses her, and walks her out of the hospital. She looks at him; but being heavily sedated she just goes with him. He is not a murderer, just on a mission to save the women in misery. She is too young to be in misery, so she must live. He drives her to her to a shelter, leaves her there by the front door, and watches to see what happens.
The Nun opens the door of the shelter, sees Claire laying on the front door step, and takes her in the shelter so she can rest. The Nun recognizes her from the news, and proceeds to make sure she is okay. Claire still groggy looks up at the Nun and smiles. Claire has shelter for the moment and is safe; the Nun decides to call the police when Claire wakes up.

"You rest honey; you have had a very rough time." She covers Claire with a blanket and sits by her side as to protect the girl from the devil she encountered.

He watched as the Nun brought Claire into the shelter, and he was pleased. "There is still hope for her soul, because she is young her soul may not need saving." He starts the car and drives off. He must continue his mission, and looks for his next soul to save. He starts to wonder who Detective Eddie Monroe is, and why did the doctor think he was this person.

The sound of the alarm blaring woke Eddie out of a deep sleep. "It's eight am already, I feel like I just went to sleep." Detective Monroe crawled out of bed and headed for the shower when the phone rang. He ran over to the phone and picked it up.

"Hello!"

"Detective Monroe, I am Sister Margaret, and the police station gave me your number, and said I should call you."

"Okay Sister what can I do for you?"

"Claire Sewer is here at St. Anne's Shelter."

"Are you sure it is her?"

"Yes Detective I am sure it is her."

"Thank you Sister, can she stay there for awhile, and tell no one she is there."

"Okay Detective I will do that, she is safe here."

"Thank you Sister." Eddie hung up the phone and headed back to the shower. While in the shower, he kept thinking and wondering if he took Claire out of the hospital; then why is she in a homeless shelter? Eddie got dressed and headed to the station. After arriving at the station, he headed towards the shrinks office. He knocks on the door.

"Come on in Detective, I have been waiting for you." Eddie opens the door, and walks into Dr. Larson's office. The office is very contemporary, friendly, and inviting. "So Detective what is it that I can help you with."

"Well Dr. Larson, I believe I am having blackouts, or I am in two places at once. People are telling me I am at certain places, and I do not remember being there."

"Detective Monroe, just because someone says they have seen you somewhere, or you were doing something, does not mean you were."

"But I cannot remember the time they are talking about, or even where I was."

"Ok to start I want you to carry a journal, write in it everything you do and the time you do it at. This will help you with your memory, and will help to find if blackouts are taking place. I want you to come back in a week and we will go over the journal."

"All right, Dr. Larson, see you in a week." Eddie left the shrinks office and headed back to his. Eddie kept thinking, I hope this helps, because I am not a murderer.

Author Notes There's a serial killer in Melview and he looks like the lead detective. The lead detective is Eddie Monore, and he is questioning if he is the killer. The killer is only killing divorced or single women between thirty-five and forty-five years old. Eddie Monroe was recognized by the only witness Claire Sewer daughter of one of the victims, and a women Eddie almost married. Claire has been missing and even thought there is a suspect in jail another murder occurred. So we find Claire and Eddie is still questioning his own sanity. I look forward to all feedback good or bad.

"Hey Detective Monroe come here." The officer at the desk called out to him.
He walks over to the desk. "What is it?"

"The Sewer kid is in your office, and we are about to release your suspect Bob Hart."

"Thanks for the info, and I will talk to the kid." Eddie walked into his office and found Tommy sitting in the chair. "Well hello Tommy, and how are you?"
"I am fine Detective Monroe, any word on my sister?"

"Well Tommy she is at a shelter and is safe, just know she is in a safe environment."

"Where is she, can I see her?"

"Now Tommy she needs to stay where she is, so she will be safe."

"Ok, I guess I will go back home and wait for her return."

"Good idea Tommy." Tommy left Eddie's office, obviously not happy with the information Monroe gave him. He felt sorry for the kid, and with good reason. The kid had just lost his mother to a killer, and his sister was psychologically scared. Eddie picked up the phone and called down to booking and the holding cell. "This is Detective Monroe; I understand Bob Hart is being released today."

"Yes there is not enough evidence to hold him."

"Thanks."

There was not enough evidence to keep Bob in jail, since there was no DNA to be tested from the rape kit. These women were raped and murdered, but with an object not a male penis. Maybe a condom was used, but there was no evidence of condom material or the lubricant even found. Eddie started thinking the case has more questions than answers.
The killer went searching for his next soul to save. He knew the place to look was in the local bars, because the women there are lonely, desperate, and their souls are in pain. He kept wondering why the mother of two kept acting as if she knew who he was. Did he met her before, or was there something familiar about him that she thought she recognized. In addition, he wondered who this Detective Monroe was and why did the doctor think he was this person. He pulled into the parking lot of Casey's the joint was jumping, there would be plenty of souls for him to save tonight, just need to find the one most in need of saving. He walked over to the bar, where there was a beautiful woman who looked depressed. "Hello beautiful can I buy you a drink?"

She looked up at him and smiled "Why of course you can, I will have a seven and seven, thank you. My name is Samantha."

"Hello Samantha, my name is Henry." He reaches his hand out to shake her hand.

"Hi Henry, and thanks for the drink." She lifts her glass to him, and he lifts his in return to her. "Well Henry tell me about yourself and what you are looking for in life."

"Well, you can say that I save people who are in despair, and what about you Samantha what are you looking for in life?" He wanted to qualify that she needed her soul saved. He looked her straight in the eye expecting a certain answer, but did not get the answer he wanted.

"Well I am with a great guy who just asked me to marry him; I am waiting for him now." Just then her finance walked in. "There he is, Frank, over here." She waved him over, but when he got there, Henry was gone.
He continued looking, but this time looked for a girl who looked sad and desperate. He needed to find a soul to save; he was like a drug addict looking for his next fix. This feeling over came him like a tidal wave on the shore of a beach, he needed to save a soul before he could do anything else. Then he noticed her, she was nursing her drink like a baby with a bottle. He could see she was sad and lonely; she was perfect, her soul was crying out to be saved. He walked over to her, the closer he got to her he noticed she had tears running down her checks. He thought to himself, "This soul is in desperate need of saving." He sat down on the stool next to her, thinking of what to say. It came to him, a smile creep up on his face making him look like the lunatic he is.
She noticed him sitting there after a few minutes. He was not looking in her direction, so she just ignored him. After a few minutes he turned toward her, he started to say something, but changed his mind, and turned back the other way. She figured she better break the ice. She tapped him on the shoulder, "Hello, I noticed you were trying to talk to me. My name is Cheryl, and I am having a bad day, so I really want to be left alone."

He turned towards her, "Really then why are you even talking to me. My name is Henry."
She chuckled, "Ok Henry you win. Your tactic is original and you got my attention."

"Cheryl, why are you crying in your drink?"

"My divorce was final today, I did not want it, but my husband, ex-husband was the one who pushed it through, so he could be with his twenty-two year old girlfriend."

"Now why would a man pass off a beautiful mature woman like you to be with an immature airhead?"

"Thank you I keep asking myself that same question."

He knew he had her, he bought her another drink, and they kept talking until closing time. He convinced her to leave the bar with him, for her soul needed saving, he was going to put her out of her misery. They went to alley, she kissed him, and he kissed her back. She was drunk, and he made her feel sexy and beautiful. She started to make sexual advances towards him and he pushed her away.
"What is wrong?" She asked him with a tremble in her voice. She wondered what she did to turn him off so fast. "Did I do something wrong?"

He looked at her, and smiled, a smile that gave him a look of evil. "No, you did nothing wrong. I was shocked at how forward you were." He took her hand and lifted it up to his mouth, and kissed it gently. She smiled at him. He turned her around, so her back was to him. She was waiting for a tender touch, but instead felt the cold steal of a knife at her throat. Fear came across her body as if she was hit with a barrel of cold water. He whispered in her ear, "I am here to save you from yourself."

He stuck the knife deep in her throat and cut her from ear to ear, and smiled as she fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes. He smiled and straddled her body, and looked deep in to her eyes, which were fading with every squirt of blood that shot out of her neck. He then took her left hand, and cut the ring finger off and traced her mouth as in a gesture of erotic fun. He then opens her mouth and stuffs the finger in it with such a force that the blood from her neck splattered on his face. He was satisfied with his work, and she was another soul saved. He looked at her for the last time, thought this one was different, and would bring him much pleasure. He was excited at the site of this one, but received no physical pleasure from her, not like the others.

The phone rang and Detective Eddie Monroe just knew there was another murder. "This is Monroe, yes, I will be right there." He knew what he would find, and was baffled with this case. He went to the alley where the body was, and tried to understand why this was happening to these women, and how could he stop it, and if it was him who needed to be stopped. Carl from forensics arrives at the scene; Eddie greets him with a question. "Hey Carl, are we finding any forensic evidence to at least have a viable suspect, what are we missing?"

"We do have the fingerprints of Sally Chapman from the bracelet. I do not know of anything else Eddie, I will keep looking."

"Please do, for this is the worst case we have ever come across in Mel-View."

"Detective Monroe, Detective Monroe." Officer Chad was running calling his name to get the Detective's attention.

"Officer Chad, what is it?"

"We have a witness that saw the victim leave with someone last night."
"Good bring them over, and let's see if we can get a break in this case." Eddie's heart jumped as if he just received the one thing he wanted for Christmas.

"This is Justin, the bartender."

"Ok Justin, tell me who did she leave the bar with last night."

"Well sir, he looked just like you, and he paid cash for their drinks."

"What! I wasn't even here last night."

"Thanks Justin for your help, Officer Chad will get your address and phone number, so we can contact you later, should we need to ask you anymore questions." Detective Monroe was shocked at what the bartender had told him, and again he thought to himself, was he a murderer? He took out the journal Dr. Larson suggested he keep, and read what he had written down last night. Eddie was nervous at what he might find in his own handwriting.
He opened the journal with apprehension, looked at the page he wrote last night, he stared at the page. The page with his handwriting read: "10PM, this movie is boring think I will go to bed." The time in the journal says 10PM, so I could not have been at the club, so who was it, and why do they look like him? It is just like the surveillance tape at the hospital. Eddie thought to himself there is someone killing these women, and he looks just like me, but why, how?
Eddie called Bob to see how he was. "Hey Bob, how are you? I know you are innocent of these murders, but we have no clue who did commit these murders."

"Eddie thanks for finally believing in me."

"Let me ask you a question Bob, and please tell me the truth."

"Sure Eddie what is it?"

"Did you really see me that night at the Bar and Grill?"

"Well the man sure looked liked you, come to think of it, he acted like he did not know me at all."

"He acted like he did not know you?"

"Yes!"

"Well Bob, did that detail tell you it was not me?"

"I guess it should have, but he looked like you exactly. Maybe you have a twin."

"I am an only child."

"But you were adopted, were you not?"
"Yes I was. Maybe I do have a twin, and didn't know it." Eddie hung up the phone, and began to think about where he would start to research the possibility that he did have a twin. He could go to the adoption agency which handled his adoption and maybe flash his badge to acquire his information, but that would be an abuse of his power.

He called his mother and asked her the name of the adoption agency she went through. She told him it was the Little Ones Adoption agency in town. He thanked her and proceeded to the agency. The agency was in downtown Mel-View, and he wondered how he was going to get the information he needed, was his twin committing these murders, and why. Eddie pulled up to the agency, and still had no idea how he was going to get the information. He walked in the door was greeted by the receptionist.

"Hello, may I help you?" The receptionist was pleasant enough.

"Yes, I am Detective Monroe, and I need to talk to someone about an adoption that occurred about forty years ago."

"Well Detective, you will have to speak to Mrs. Simon, to see if you are allowed that information, and I believe you need a warrant for that information."

"Ok." Eddie wondered if this was a stall tactic or a way to tell him he was at a dead end. Eddie waited in the lobby patiently for Mrs. Simon. It must have been at least twenty minutes before she arrived.

"Detective Monroe, I am Mrs. Simon, how can I help you?"
"Is there somewhere we can speak privately?" Eddie was anxious.

Mrs. Simon showed Eddie to her plush office down the hall, and looked at him with a question look on her face. She gestured for Eddie to sit down in on of the comfortable armchairs in front of her desk. "So Detective Monroe, what can I do for you?"

"I would like some information on an adaptation that took place about forty years ago."

"Whose adoption and why do you need this information?"

"Well", Eddie thought a minute. "The adoption was a baby boy to Sarah and Ted Monroe."

"Detective, are you asking about your own adoption?" Mrs. Simon had seen this before adopted children trying to find birth parents.

"Well yes, but not to find my birth parents, I am looking for a possible twin."

Mrs. Simon thought for a minute. "Well most of our records are now on computers, and I don't know if any information from 40 years ago is even on the computer. Our archive room had a fire a few years back and any files that didn't get transposed to the computer were lost, but I will try to see what I can find."

"Ok I guess I can agree to that. Here's my card if you find the information please give me a call." Monroe was not giving up just yet.

"I will do that Detective, and I hope I can find what your are looking for." Mrs. Simon stated as she shook his hand goodbye.

Mrs. Simon looked on the computer and did find the information Eddie Monroe wanted about his adoption forty-years ago. She called him using the number he'd left.
After he answered the phone, Eddie asked, "Mrs. Simon, what information have you found?"

"You were a twin, A couple in the next town adopted her."

"A sister, are you sure?" Eddie's eyes widened and shoulders slumped.

"Yes Detective a sister. I'm curious, why do you want to know this information?"

"Well someone who looks like me is a murder suspect. They're not female." Eddie thanked Mrs. Simon and hung up.

"If I have a twin sister, then who is impersonating me, and why?" Eddie thought, and concluded he needed to make contact with his sister. Mrs. Simon had given him the address and name of the couple who had adopted her. Eddie left the station and notified the desk Sargent he would be out for the rest of the day, but could be contacted on his police radio.
Eddie Monroe drove to Ron and Grace Chapman's home in Lakeview. He rang the doorbell while his stomach launched in his throat. A stout older man answered the door, "Hello can I help you?"

"Hello, are you Mr. Chapman?"

"Yes, I am what can I do for you?"

Eddie explained who he was how he had found them and that he wanted to meet his twin sister.
Mr. Chapman showed Eddie into the living room. "Grace, this is Eddie Monroe. He is Sally's twin brother."

Grace rose from the couch and offered her hand. "Nice to meet you Mr. Monroe. Sally is not here. We have not seen her in two years."

"Do you know her whereabouts?"

"She use to call us once a week, but after a rough breakup about two years ago, she stop calling. We have no idea where she is or even if she's alive."

"What happened?"

"She was engaged. Then she found him in bed with another man and it crushed her." Tears welled up in her eyes, as Grace explained this to Eddie.

Ron tries to comfort his wife as he continues one. "Sally just totally lost it. She started hanging out in gay and lesbian bars. It was like he turned her gay. It just wasn't her anymore. She became someone else. We tried to get her some help."

"Was she still living at home while she exhibited this behavior?"

"Yes. Then one day Tom, the guy she was to marry, showed up, and tried to make their relationship work. She snapped. She smack him and walked out the front door. That was two years ago." Ron's voice cracked as he held back tears. "We haven't seen or heard from her since." Ron stared at the floor.

As Eddie thanked them, Grace handed him a picture of Sally. On his drive back to Melview, he got that gut feeling detectives get when they are missing something. He went over the events of the day. The fingerprints! Sally Chapman's fingerprints were on a the last victim's bracelet. He knew he had the address, because she had been arrested for drunk and disorderly. Was this Sally Chapman his twin? What connection does she have with this case? He headed for his appointment with Dr. Larson.

Who, What, Why

Dr. Larson was sitting in the larger recliner chair when Eddie arrived. She looked at him puzzled, "Eddie, you ok?"

"Dr. Larson, I have a twin sister, I just discovered this while searching for a possible twin. Everyone thinks they see me with these women before they are murdered.

Dr. Larson thought for a minute. "Then you don't believe you are having any blackouts or anything of that sort, do you Eddie?"

"Both Bartenders said I was at the bar with these women before they were murdered, and I wasn't. I was on the video tape at the hospital and I wasn't there." Eddie sat down hard on the couch out of frustration.

Dr. Larson look puzzled. "Detective Monroe, are you saying your suspect is you or someone who looks like you?"

"Yes, that is why I thought I was having blackouts." Eddie realized what the doctor was getting at. "What are you saying doc? I created another persona, and it is me, but I am not having blackouts. The journal you wanted me to keep is not showing this." Eddie's red face shows his anger as he faces Doctor Larson.

"Look I am not in any way saying that, all I was saying is the suspect has some sort of connection with you. Why would the suspect whoever he is be disguised as you when everyone knows you so well?" Dr. Larson had a logical point, and her voice was stern when she pointed this out to Eddie.

"I don' have a clue, and please don't look at me like that." Eddie's voice was cracking as he recognized the look on Dr. Larson's face, it was that look that he was crazy. "It isn't me, and I didn't create another persona or personality."

"Here read this it has my every move over the last few days." Dr. Larson took the journal and read it, and realized that Eddie was telling the truth. The suspect was someone who looked like him, but why and who.

"Okay I believe you, but who is this person and why do they look like you? I mean you hear that everyone has a twin somewhere, but why now and why is this person killing women." Dr. Larson wasn't only puzzled, but also intrigued. "Eddie you are dealing with a man that has had a traumatic event involving a woman. The ring finger has some kind of significance to that event. I would say the man was either married or engaged and his wife or girlfriend cheated on him and every woman he meets reminds him of this so he keeps killing her in his mind when he kills these women."

"Thank you Dr. Larson." Eddie realized that he needed to get the station and have the local bars staked out, but does he go and face the man that looks like him, or would it create a problem in catching this killer. While driving back to the station, he thought about everything that has happened up until now. He thought about finding out he had a twin sister, and a suspect for the murders that looked exactly like him. He wondered how Claire Sewer ended up at the shelter, and realized he needed to let Tommy know where his sister was.

Time for a stakeout

Eddie arrives at the station, and stops at the front desk before proceeding into his office. The desk Sargent was Louis Shaw, "Sargent Shaw I need you to put out a call to all officers for a debriefing in the conference room at 1800. We need to set up stakeouts in all the bars to try and catch this guy."

"Okay Detective it will be done."

Eddie proceeds to his office to call Tommy Sewer. Tommy is happy to hear the news about his sister being alive and staying with some Nuns. Before hanging up Tommy tells Eddie that his aunt is taking him and his sister to live with her. That is the kind of news Eddie likes to hear, and at least something good will come out of these horrific serial killings.

The conference room is full of Melview's finest and all eyes are on Detective Monroe. The room is quiet as Monroe starts to speak. "Okay everybody listen up, this is how the stakeouts are going to go. We will have teams in plain clothes in the bar watching for the suspect. Your team assignment is on the sheet of paper that is being passed around. We know the killer picks his victims randomly, but we do not know the criteria he uses. The teams will consist of one male officer and one female officer. Should you come in contact with the suspect call for backup do not engage on your own. The suspect we are looking for looks like me, so make sure it is not me before engaging." The officers in the room gasped at that information. How can they be looking for someone that looks like the detective? Eddie could feel all eyes on him. "Yes he looks like me, and it is not me. Now, everyone has their assignments let's get moving and catch this guy before he kills another woman." Eddie began to wonder how he could be at a stakeout to catch a suspect that looks like him?

Eddie sits in his car listening to the police scanner. All the teams are in place in the bars throughout Melview. One of the teams has to come across this guy, Eddie thought. He is sure tonight is the night the murders will stop. The stakeout goes until 3am and and no one came across the suspect. He went back to his office and looked up Sally Chapman, whose fingerprints were on the bracelet.

Tommy is looking forward to seeing his sister and knowing she was okay was a relief for him. Detective Monroe gave Tommy the directions to the shelter. He didn't mind the taxi ride much because he is going to get his sister and they are taking a bus to live with their Aunt. Tommy wonders how Claire ended up at the shelter? Detective Monroe didn't tell him how she ended up there.

The Nun answered the door and led Tommy down the hall to the room his sister was staying. When he gets to the door Claire looks at him, gets up, runs over to him, and gives him a very big hug. Tommy is smiling. He is very happy. "Claire I am glad you are okay."

"Tommy I was so scared. I saw who killed mom. It was Eddie Monroe. I saw him standing over mom's body with the bloody knife in his hand. He ran out the door."

"Claire you must be mistaken. He is the one that found you, and he is looking for mom's killer."

"I am not wrong. I saw him." Claire is stern with her words.

"Look we have to catch a bus. We are going to Aunt Sarah's she said she will take us in. You cannot stay here if what you're saying is true. We need to go now." Tommy rushed Claire out to the taxi. Tommy realizes that if Claire is right they need to leave Melview and fast. If Monroe believes Claire knows he's the one that is killing. He may come after her. Tommy feels the need to protect his sister, and needs to get her out of this town. "The bus station and fast, our bus leaves in 30 minutes."

"Yes sir." The driver pulls away from the shelter. Tommy just wanted to get Claire as far away as possible for her safety. The taxi picks up speed and this is soothing to Tommy; the sooner Claire is away from here the better he will feel.

He had no idea what was in store for him. He approached her just like the others. She was sipping her drink with sad eyes. She needs me he believed with certainty. She needs to be free, and it is my job to set her free. He held onto the back of a chair, "could not help but notice you look so sad, and you're too pretty to be sad." He tried to sound as sincere as possible as he said, "Tell me why you are sad?"

Officer Teresa Mims looked up at him and could not believe what she was seeing. It was Monroe, no it was the killer who looked like Monroe. She was finding it very hard to stay in character. She was worried she would fuckup catching this guy. She took a deep breath before she answered him. "My boyfriend just left me for someone else. We were supposed to be married next month, but he ran away with the wedding planner."

He looks at her and chuckles, "Seriously? Sorry to hear that, let me buy you a drink. You look like you could use one."

"Sure that would be nice." Her bought her a drink, and decided she was not the one for tonight. He left the bar.

Monroe was in his car outside and saw him leave. Eddie could not believe his eyes; it was like looking into a mirror. Eddie decided to follow him.

As the killer walks down the street he is looking for something or someone.

Eddie thought "this guy is very strange, I can't arrest him, so I will follow him and see where he is going?" Monroe tried to follow him and not be seen. Eddie was worried if this guy sees him and freaks, he may try to kill Eddie, and take his place. "Come on Monroe you are starting to become paranoid," Eddie said out loud. Eddie follows him into the alley, and the killer turns and stares at Monroe.

Everyone is watching as Monroe walks into the squad room. Officer Mims stands up and address Monroe. "Detective Monroe, I am sorry I could not keep the killer with me. He looked just like you and it was creepy. I guess he realized it was a trap."

"I understand, but you are off stakeout duty. I saw him leave the bar and followed him, but I lost him in the alley." Eddie tried not to sound angry. "This guy is very clever. Since he looks like me, we need to be extra careful. I want this guy caught no matter what it takes. If I have to put myself behind bars to ensure the officers who come in contact with him knows it is not me."

"Detective Monroe, there is a call for you," an officer stated as he poked his head in the squad room.

"Okay, I will take it in here." He picks up the phone. "This is Monroe, what can I do for you."

"Detective Monroe, this is Henry, apparently you and I look alike." Monroe's face froze in shock. "Well Detective, do I have your attention? I had no idea someone looked just like me until I went to see the girl in the hospital. Come to find out by one of your own last night, it is the man in charge of finding me. How interesting is that!"

"Henry, is that what you said?"

"Yes, it is Henry, and you are Detective Eddie Monroe."

Eddie just can't believe who is calling. "Why are you calling me, Henry?" The other officers were trying to listen. Monroe motioned to trace the call, as he tries to keep the guy talking.

"Well Detective, I am calling you to let you know I am on to you. You can't stop my mission. You can't stop what is meant to be. I am here to save these women. The fact that you and I look alike makes it even more a divine intervention."

"It isn't a divine intervention to kill people. The reason you look like me is something of a coincidence that is all." Monroe was still trying to figure out why Henry did look like him, and how to find him before he kills another woman.

"Monroe, you will not find what you are seeking, it is I who has the answers, and you won't be able to stop the cosmic need of my work." Henry hung up.

"Did we get the trace?" Eddie yells out.

"No we didn't, There wasn't enough time. Sorry Sir.' The officer's voice had frustration in the answer.

Eddie decided at that time to follow the lead of the fingerprints and talk to Sally Chapman. The address on Sally Chapman's arrest record was 336 Shane Blvd Apartment 203. He and another officer headed to her apartment.

When they arrived at the View Apartments, Monroe continued to wonder how to approach Sally, especially if she is his twin. Eddie knocked on the apartment door and a cute Burnett opened the door. Monroe was the first at the door. "Hello Miss." Monroe said politely. "I am Detective Monroe and I would like to ask you a few questions. Can we come in?" Eddie knew this was his twin sister, she looks just like the picture he received from the Chapmans, her hair is just shorter

"Yes, officer please come in." Sally was confused. "I do not understand, what is this about?" She showed them to couch and motioned them to sit.

Eddie took a deep sigh. "Your fingerprints were discovered on the bracelet of a murder victim."

"What!" Sally had shock in her voice. "Who, when?" Monroe shows her the picture of the last victim. "That's Tracy."

Monroe was curious she recognized the last victim. "Do you know her?"

"Yes that's Tracy Shaw. She was staying with me since she divorced her husband, and she borrowed my bracelet the other night. I thought she hooked up with someone and that's why she hasn't been here. Oh my god, how was she killed?

"She was murdered. Don't you watch the news or read the papers? There's a serial killer in Melview."

"No, I don't like the news, because they always report about bad stuff. I guess if I did watch the news and read the paper I would have known about Tracy. How did you find me and know it was my fingerprints anyway?"

"You were arrested a few years ago and they were in the system."

"Oh, okay." Sally said quickly.

Monroe rose off the couch and thanked Sally for her time and left the apartment. Eddie was very quiet on the ride back to the station. "Detective, are you okay? You seem a little distracted right now."

"Sorry Kevin, this case has me distracted. There's something I am missing and I just know it is staring me in the face. The thing that really has me bugged was Henry calling the station as a taunt. He really pushed my buttons with that."

"Detective we will catch him it is only a matter of time."

"True but that time is not time another victim has."

Author Notes I am really enjoying all the feedback from every one. The feedback has helped tremendously, all of the feedback and I use it to make changes on the chapters.

Chapter 12
Monroe follows Henry to a residence

By SLMorrical

Warning: The author has noted that this contains the highest level of violence.

Detective Monroe continues to have the bars staked out in hopes to catch Henry. Monroe and Detective Ricky Scan, continue to sit in the stakeout car night after night, and Detective Scan is getting really frustrated because Henry has not showed up. "Hey Eddie this stakeout is going no where. There hasn't been a sign of Henry anywhere. Of course that means there hasn't been any new murders by him."

"Ricky I know this stakeout seems to be going nowhere, but if it means we have to stakeout every bar every night to prevent another murder, then I am all for that."
Just as Eddie said this to Ricky, he saw Henry go into Casseys Bar. "There he is Ricky, go in ad follow him, I will stay in the car, ad watch the entrance in case he comes out."
Ricky got out of the care and went into Casseys Bar, Eddie was on edge knowing this would be the night they catch him.
Twenty minutes after Ricky went into the bar he was calling Monroe over the radio."Hey Eddie, he is leaving the bar." Eddie kept a very close eye on the front door of the bar and turned the car on. He was ready to follow Henry when he left the bar. A man at that moment walks out the door and down the street. It was Henry. Detective Monroe followed him but not to close. He didn't want to spook him. Henry apparently didn't notice Monroe in the car following him, or was he just trying to lead Monroe on a wild goose chase.

"I have him now," Eddie thought to himself. As Henry turns down the next street Monroe realizes he knows the street. It;s Shane Blvd, the same street he was on three days ago questioning his sister about her fingerprints being on the bracelet of a victim. Henry stops at View Apartments. Eddie stops the car and follows him into the Apartment Building always making sure Henry doesn't see him. He watches Henry go into an apartment. Eddie proceeds to the apartment to get the apartment number. Monroe knows he needs the apartment number in order to get a search warrant for it. As he moves towards the apartment, and gets the number, he just can't believe what he is seeing.
Eddie goes back to the car and drives to Casseys Bar and picks up Ricky.

"Eddie are you okay?" Ricky sees the confusion on Eddie's face.

"I'm okay Ricky I followed Henry to a residence and now we need to go see a judge for a search warrant.:

"Good going Eddie, we will finally get him off the streets, and close this case." Eddie didn't say anything else on the way to the station to find a judge that will give them a search warrant for Henry's place, if it is Henry's place.

Eddie was able to find a judge for the search warrant, and with warrant in hand Detective Monroe prepared to arrest Henry. "Hey Ricky, want to come with me and serve this warrant?"

"Sure Eddie lets go." Detective Scan jumped out of his seat and followed Monroe out the station door.
Once in the car Ricky looked at Eddie, "Where we going Eddie?"

"To serve this warrant and arrest Henry for the murders of those women."

"You found him?"

"Yes, I told you last night. I followed him to a residence, and this warrant is for that residence."

Detective Monroe and Detective Scan pulled up to 336 Shane Blvd the Melview apartments, headed to the apartment number on listed on the warrant. As the two Detectives reach the hallway to the apartment to serve the warrant they can't believe their eyes. Coming out of the apartment was a carbon copy of Eddie it was like looking into the mirror, but it was Henry. Henry saw them and went back inside. Eddie thought how can this be? Detective Scan knocked on apartment 203. Sarah Chapman's apartment, Eddie's Twin sister, only she doesn't know they are twins. Eddie keeps running the same question over and over again . Why would she protect Henry? She may not read or watch the news, but her friend was murdered. Eddie realizes that the only way to answer that question is to ask Sarah.

Sarah opens the door with a surprised look on her face. "Detective Monroe, I told you everything I know." "Why are you here?"
"Do you live alone Ms.? Detective Scan asked Sarah.

"Yes I do Detective?"

"Scan, Detective Scan. Detective Monroe and myself saw a man come out this door and go back into this apartment."

"That's impossible, I live alone and none else have lived here since Tracy, who is dead."

"Mrs. Chapman your friend was killed by the man we saw come into this apartment, and we have a warrant to search this apartment." Eddie spoke with anger in his voice.

Detective Scan handed Sally the search warrant. The two Detectives proceed to search the apartment. Another officer arrives and sits in the living room with Sally to ensure she doesn't go anywhere. "Hey Monroe, Ricky yells, you need to come here." Eddie hurries towards Ricky's voice. Eddie finds Ricky in one of the bedrooms in a closet. "Eddie look at this a closet full of men's clothes." Monroe leaves that bedroom and goes to confront Sally about what Detective Scan has found.

"Well Ms. Chapman, Monroe looked at Sally accusingly. I thought you lived alone. If that is the case, why is there a closet full of men's clothes?" As Monroe looked at Sally waiting for an answer he started to get that nagging feeling that detectives get when they know something is just not right, but what? Sally started to get real nervous. She got up of the couch and started pacing, and her expression changed. Monroe knew something was up. Sally turned towards Monroe and just starred right at him.

"You must be Monroe." The voice was not Sally's voice, it was the voice on the phone that taunted him. It was Henry's voice, as Sally spoke in this voice,Detective Scan comes in to the living room. He can't believe what he is hearing, and stands frozen, starring at Eddie.

"Monroe what's going on?" Ricky doesn't know how to react.

It all came together at that moment, for Monroe. Everything made sense just then. No semen for DNA, the killer looking like him. Monroe turns to Ricky. "Scan call for back up." Detective Scan immediately calls.

"It's finally good to face the man that looks like me." Henry smiled an evil smile.

Monroe smiles back at him/her. "Why Henry, Why did you kill, and why use Sally?"
"Who do you think took care of her and released her soul after that bum finance of hers broke her. I did, and like all women who are alone because of a man, I freed her soul and gave her peace. She died so I can live, and all those women had to die so their soul could be released and be at peace."
When back up arrived Monroe had Sally/Henry in handcuffs. "Detective Monroe!" Chad yelled as he entered the door.
Monroe meet Chad at the door and handed Sally/Henry over to him. "Take her to the station." Monroe said with certainty. "And have Forensics test everything in this apartment. Detective Scan, did you find the knife, the murder weapon?"

"Yes it was in a bag in the closet, and it still has blood on it."

Monroe put Sally/Henry into an interrogation room. "Someone Call Dr. Larson, we need a shrink for an evaluation." In the interrogation it was just the Henry persona, and Doctor Larson stated that after the initial psyche evaluation it was Henry that is now the dominate personality. Forensics found clothing that had blood on it from all the victims, and the murder weapon had blood that matched all the victims. The strangest thing they found was Sally's DNA from licking the knife blade.

Monroe called Sally's parents when he arrived at the station, and they showed up shortly after that. "Detective, you said Sally was arrested for murder, but why?" Mrs. Chapman was in tears, as she asked that question.

"Well Mr. and Mrs. Chapman, your daughter has been killing and raping women in this city, but as a man named Henry."

"Detective are you crazy, and how could she rape and murder women?" Mr. Chapman's responded in anger at the accusation against his daughter.

"Apparently Sally snapped with the whole engagement fiasco and became Henry to punish herself, because her finance broke up with her to be with a man." Monroe said with an understanding of what happened.

"What, how did we not know? We could of helped her."

"Mr. Chapman, when I first met you and your wife, you told me you tried to help her, but she didn't want help and then disappeared, so you did what you could. The reason I searched you out is because I discovered I had a twin sister, and you adopted her. Also the only reason I discovered that information, was because I was also adopted, the person that was committing these rape and murders looked like me."

"Thank you for calling us Detective. Can we see her?"

"Sure you can." Monroe felt their pain, because he never got to know his sister and it was to late to try.

"I wouldn't recommend you seeing Sally, Mr. and Mrs. Chapman." Doctor Larson stated.
"Why not, and who are you?"

"I am Doctor Larson, the department's Psychiatrist."

"Hello, Dr. Larson." They shook her hand.

"She's not Sally anymore, she's Henry, and he may not know you."

"Can we at least try?" Mrs. Chapman asked with tears in her eyes.
Detective Monroe takes Mr. and Mrs. Chapman in the back to see Sally/Henry. Henry looks at them and doesn't even acknowledge who they are. "Detective Monroe, I want to talk to you." Sally says in Henry's voice.

"What Henry?" Monroe ask as he enters the interrogation room Sally/Henry is in.

"Who are those people and what is your first name?"

"Those are Sally's parents and my first name is Eddie, why?"

"Because Eddie, I have a question for you."

"What is that Henry?"

"Well Eddie I want to know why you and I look alike?" Henry was truly confused on that.

"You want to know why Henry? It is very simple if you really knew Sally."

"Of course I want to know why, stop trying to trick me."

"There is no tricks Henry, Sally is my twin sister, so when she dressed like you, you looked like me. Because you looked like me, I had to stop you, and I found her, and you."
