Chapter 1
Fluffy and Sassy conversation

By Teri7

"It's great I can be sitting higher up than you today, Sassy!"

"Just because I am older does not mean you can take advantage of me, Fluffy!"

"Why are you so angry at me this morning?"

"Because dad found another new cat in the back yard. I believe he goes around looking for more cats. Maybe he's the pied piper of cats!"

"Stop being so fussy and mean about those poor cats. Maybe they aren't as lucky as we are."

"Just because you are younger does not mean you have to care that much!"

"Sassy, I care because I heard mom talking about Jesus and God one day. She was saying that He created us for a reason. I am thinking it was to comfort people and show them how to love by being kind and good to us. Maybe we are what He uses to help people that seem to have no hope. That makes me know that He is love and we should be too."

"I guess you are right. The older I get the harder it is for me to see right. Just keep on loving like you do and you will be fine my fur sister!"

Author Notes This is a dialogue contest entry. I hope I did it right. This picture is our Fluffy and Sassy sitting on the piano in our living room when we got back from PA. They don't sit on there all the time, but I caught them this time. I hope you can see them both in the picture. They are really quite comical cats! May God bless you today!

Chapter 2
Fluffy My Cat

By Teri7

Fluffy is a very well loved cat
Loves me unconditionally every day
Usually she is laying in my lap asleep
Free from any dogs or other scary things
Full of a heart of love and always well fed
You should see this precious angel of mine

My cat brings so much joy into my life
You wouldn't believe how she relieves all my strife

Currently she is waiting on her evening snack
Always ready for her mommy's lap
This should be a lesson to all. Own a cat large or small.

Author Notes I have 7 cats in all but my Fluffy is my one and only baby girl that stays with me from the time she gets up until she has to go to bed.

Chapter 2
Conversation between sisters

By Teri7

Fluffy and Muffy decided it was time for them to spew out their point of view on how their life was going in the house. It went something like this:

"You know, Muffy, you are my sister and I love you, but you won't stand up for yourself. I see you cringe when Feisty is in the room coming your way. She is not even full grown yet! What is that all about sister?"

Muffy looks with disgust at Fluffy and turns her head slowly trying to walk away.
Muffy hesitates for a moment and starts her own conversation with Fluffy.

"Fluffy, you can be downright mean and sarcastic. I am just venting my feelings about all these dog-gone cats helping themselves to our house. Do you really like it?"

Fluffy looks down with a sad look on her face knowing that Muffy is right. How could this be happening to them so soon. They were not that old but these cats were much younger. What were they going to do!

All of a sudden they both heard footsteps of their human mommy.

Their mommy walked up to them, gave them each a pat on the head and a few strokes before speaking:

"You girls are truly blessed to be in the house out of the cold these days and nights. I know it is hard with the new cats always around. It won't always be this way. Pretty soon it will get warmer and they will be back outside. You know mommy loves you both so much!"

Mommy exited the room leaving Fluffy and Muffy alone again, which gave them another chance to talk to each other:

"You know Muffy, we do have a really nice and sweet mommy. She does want the best for us, but does she always have to include all the other cats all over the world too?

The end

Author Notes This is totally fiction as I am sure you all realize cat's can't read human's minds and vice versa. Hope you enjoy this short story for the Animal Crackers contest.
Fluffy is my cat and Muffy is Tom's cat. It fits us just right as Fluffy is like me and takes a stand on things. Muffy is more laid back and Tom. Hope you enjoy this! Blessings, Teri

Chapter 3
R.I.P. Daisy Mae

By Teri7

Daisy Mae I remember when you were just a little dog
You always had my heart sweet girl, especially today
Who knew that today was going to be your last day on this earth
Had I known I would have tried to see you more often then I did
Tom and Greyson sat with you on the porch yesterday and petted you
Oh how I wish I had known I would have gone right along with Tom
God knows what he is doing and Daisy Mae is in Heaven now
No more suffering or heart worms for that sweet dog she is free now
Free to play with the other pets in heaven and enjoy her life forever
Good bye Daisy Mae. May your sweet soul rest in peace.

Author Notes Thank you by avmurray for the great picture. Even though this is not a picture of my Daisy Mae.

Chapter 3
Sleepy Simon on Christmas

By Teri7

Sleepy Simon was a happy kitty, that was found on a Christmas day, five years ago. He would run and play with his toys, his human mommy and daddy would give him. This Christmas he found happiness when they said Sleepy Simon could live with them forever. A forever home!

Chapter 4
Stripe and Little Bit

By Teri7

After returning home from Sunday morning service, I walked into the kitchen, looked out the back door and saw the boy kittens wanting to get out of their pen to play and eat. I walked into the bedroom where Tom was getting on his outside clothes and I talked to him for a second. It was such a beautiful day here today. The sun was shining and the air was cool with a very nice breeze.

Tom had gone out in the back yard and let Little Bit and Stripe out to run and play before it was time for them to eat. I opened the back door and heard all kind of commotion coming from the back yard. It sounded like a lot of dogs, but it turned out only to be two. It was a neighbor that lived back behind us. Their two dogs had gotten loose and were in our neighbors back yard. Stripe and Little Bit were standing there in a frozen type of stance.

The lady of the house called the dogs back home. I was happy for that. The cats went back to running and playing for a little while longer. They are not quite a year old, but both are very sweet male cats.

They have claws, so I guess they could have taken care of themselves if necessary.

Chapter 4
Fluffy's eyes

By Teri7

This is a perfect picture of my cat's eyes
She looks so intense at me I get mesmerized
Of all my cats she has to be my number one
I love them all but she has truly out done

Fluffy lays in my lap most of the whole day
My life seems so lonely when she goes away
I can't seem to take any long trips anymore
Thinking of my Fluffy keeps me close for sure

Author Notes Thank you cleo85. They look just like my Fluffy.

Chapter 5
Cat Fight!

By Teri7

This morning I was sitting in the recliner in the living room. Not too much was going on at the moment. I had a really good Christmas movie on and was thoroughly enjoying it. I noticed Sassy doing some sort of crazy things like looking under the piano bench.

I happened to look over at the piano bench when I saw Sassy and Muffy going at it. To put things in perspective let me explain. Sassy is our oldest cat of 12 years. Muffy is about six years old and a lot more spry then Sassy. That is the way I had them figured out.

They were in a true cat paw fight! They were rolling and tumbling over and over. I tried to break it up, but no use in that.

They finally stopped without one piece of fur messed up too bad. I had to laugh. Cats are very funny in some of the things they do. Had to share my laugh with you today!

Chapter 5
My Furry Friends

By Teri7

I have seven indoor cats. Their names are Sassy, Fluffy, Muffy, Angel, Rascal, Curious and Precious.

These cats came to us as kittens. They are all saved cats. We love them as if they were our children. Sassy was my first cat. I got her when I found out I had MS. She was company for me. Then we got Angel and Rascal to keep them from going to the shelter. Last we got Curious and Precious. Each of these cats were given a home with us to keep them from going to the shelter.

I love each one of them as if they were my children. I hope you enjoy reading this.

Author Notes This is a very true story.

Chapter 6
Our Furry Girls!

By Teri7

I have always loved cats and dogs. I remember my grandmother always having a porch full of kittens and cats. They were all kinds, shapes and colors. Never knew if they were a boy or girl cat, as I was way too young to even care.

When Tom and I got married, at some point I ended up with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Tom was working for the Federal government and was away most of the time, which meant I was at home alone.

I asked Tom if he would get me a cat. He finally broke down and brought me home this really pretty black and white kitten. Sassy is what we named her, as it fit her perfectly.

Going on down through the years I remember many cats in my life time, but my main ones I am fixing to tell you about.

After Sassy, there was Rascal which was a pale colored calico kitten and Angel, which was a pretty black cat with some white on her. She had the markings of a skunk. Tom wanted to name her Skunky. I refused to let him call her Skunky. I won with the name of Angel.

After those two, we ended up with Fluffy and Muffy. Twin kittens that belonged to my Uncle and Aunt. They were older and couldn't take care of them so we took them. They are grey and white colored with the best personalities. They never give us any trouble. Love to be petted and played with.

Then the last ones, I thought, was Curious and Precious. Curious is a beautiful calico cat with a very sweet disposition. Her sister, Precious is a beautiful orange and white cat with a cute moustache around her mouth. Both are very sweet and loving cats that we have had since they were kittens.

If that was not enough my husband decided to work in his garden and comes home with some stray cats following him like the Pied Piper!

So now we have Momma cat which is a pretty orange and white cat with a short bobbed tail. She ended up pregnant and of course Tom had to find them in the rain one night. It was a horrible storm. He went out to look for them and got to them right before they drowned.

She had five very beautiful kittens. We now have three of the kittens still. One is a very flurry and pretty calico, colored cat named Feisty. The boys are Little Bit and Stripe. Little Bit has a unique arrangement of markings and Stripe is mostly white with a few pretty orange dots on his back. We have one more that frequents our house outside and that is Blaze. For some reason all these cats seem to favor each other!

This is my story about our fur babies, which are all cats. We do enjoy them. I hope you enjoy reading about our little girls and three little boys!
