I bury my head deeply as I sit in my chair.
God this is the time of your birth.
How can my soul be filled with joyful mirth?
Going on a week since I heard from my love.
His heart is pure like a gentle, white dove.
Jesus, I know you love me and want me to smile,
As I journey on this lonesome, sad mile.
This is a plea from this heart of mine to you.
This is something only you can do!
Patience has not always been one of my virtues,
So sadly I tell you of my impending blues.
You see my heart and what it does require.
I just need to hear from my Jon, as to inspire.
Thank you Jesus for listening to me.

Faith is something I can tell you about because I have faith. I have seen it at work in my own life many times. See, it's not like we need gallons and gallons of faith. In the Bible it says faith the size of a mustard seed. Do you realize how tiny that seed is? Think about it and just know that is the small amount that is required. I get so excited I feel like I am walking on air at times. Reading one of the writer's story on faith today gave me a new push to go on with an obstacle I am going through. See, Jesus never said it would be easy and he also said he would never leave us, nor forsake us.
My story about faith started last night. I was talking to my Uncle for a little while. He is a pastor and we are very close. He is my last living uncle on my mom's side of the family. We got into a conversation and I had prayer with him. I explained that I really wanted to be at church this Sunday, but my days and nights had gotten so mixed up from taking the solu medrol for the MS.
After I hung up from talking to him I just knew it was going to be a piece of cake, right? Wrong. I tried so hard to fall asleep. Sleep would not come. I was so tired, but was totally wired from the solu medrol shot. So I thought to myself, I guess I can just stay home and sleep today, but that was not what my heart wanted me to do. I stayed up until time to get ready for church. I got ready, had my bible out and my purse. I even had a sound track to take, just in case they wanted me to sing. I was totally worn out physically, but spiritually I was on go. I taught my Sunday School class for the first time in several months, I was asked to sing a solo, I did. The song I sung was a song my aunt used to sing. She would sing it for me all the time. The song blessed so many, but it blessed me the most. I felt like I did what God wanted me to do today. See he is faithful to us and I want to be faithful to him.
Another instance of faith was tonight. We had our Christmas program at church. I was supposed to sing two songs. I didn't get to go this morning. Somehow I got up and went tonight. I have been praying for my three sons to come back to church. To some it may sound silly or stupid, but to me it is very necesarry. I was on stage when I saw my three handsome sons walk in the doors. One had even brought his girlfriend. They got to hear their mother sing. Everyone was happy to see them. I found out they made A's on their finals in college this time. I was so happy for them. They are great guys.
If you are going through a hard time in life and need a friend, Jesus is the best friend ever. Read the story that mslink wrote about faith. If that does not make you a believer then I don't know what will.

Dear Jesus, I arise in the morning to start a new day.
Giving thanks to you always, as I honor you and pray.
I plea the blood of Jesus Christ over all my family and friends.
I give my heart and soul to you, as that will never end.

God and nature are in everything.
God's beauty is everywhere.
I see it in the eyes of a newborn baby.
I see God in every child that is growing up.
I see God in humans that have disease and trials.
I see smiles that seem to go on for miles
I see God in the trees that stand so proud.
I see the beauty in each and every flower.
They make me happy and truly believe.
God is in the beating hearts of little animals.
I know this as mine are so sweet and loving.
God is in the soil that we use for our plants and gardens to help them produce.
God is in the milk we drink.
as it helps our body and bones.
God is supernatural.
Everything He touches moves!
God made nature for us to enjoy and see every day.
He made the cool breezes to help with the heat.
He made the sunshine for warmth on our cool bodies.
He made the rain to water this earth.
He made the sunlight to help us see our way.
He gave us darkness so we could rest at night.
He lets us hear the sound of thunder to know
He is in charge!
He gives us peaceful moments to relax, enjoy and
to feel his Almighty presence each and every day.

Mary looked around her room as her eyes slowly begin to open. She saw the pictures in her room that were so dear to her heart.The one that kept her attention so long was of her long lost boyfriend, John. He had left her only due to injuries sustained in battle, in other words he died. She remembered the night he gave his heart to God and made Jesus his savior forever. That was the happiest day of her life.
Reaching down, she pet her cat Fluffy as it meowed sweetly. The sun was shining so brightly on this Memorial day. Getting dressed she carefully chose her pretty clothes for the day. Hopping in her car, she headed to the grocery store for some nonperishable things to make do for now.
As she walked into the store a very handsome guy caught her eye. In fact it was John, the pharmacist.
His dark hair and beautiful deep brown eyes had always been a pleasant thing to look at when she went to pick up things for her mom, before she died. John had always been so kind and good to her. She heard that he and his former girlfriend had broken up.
She took a step toward him with a bright smile on her face.
"Good morning, John. How are things going with you?"
John heard the sweet voice and immediately turned around to face her.
"Hey there, Mary. I've been thinking about you, believe it or not. How are you doing today?"
"I can't complain myself. The sun is shining and Jesus takes care of me so I'm a happy person."
"That's what I like about you. You are always so upbeat and positive and you love the Lord. You are the kind of person I need in my life. What do you say we spend some quality time together?"
Mary looked dreamily at him and said, "I think that would be a great thing to do. It has crossed my mind a few times also."
John remembered the times Mary had been in to pick up medicine for her mother, and when her boyfriend had died. She was so devastated, but she kept on going. Here she was in front of his eyes, even more beautiful than ever.
"Mary, do you think we could go past some of the informality and truly start seriously dating?"
Mary's heart begin to flutter as she heard his words.
"John, I think that would be a great idea. We are neither one children. I have always adored and respected you. I guess you could say I have always loved you from afar!
As John saw Mary turn around to pay for her items, he quickly stepped in front of her and said, "How about we catch a movie tomorrow night?"
Mary faced him and said, "I thought you'd never ask!"
With that conversation behind them, it started a whole new outlook on life for both of them.

I look up to Him in the morning sun and evening stars.
Faith is when a newborn child takes that sweet breath of life.
Not knowing one day it's life could be full of stress and strife.
Faith is what I see in my grandson's sweet smile.
As he bounces around all day long and walks a steady mile.
So many beautiful reasons to have our faith in Him above.
He holds us ever so closely like a warm fitted glove.
I don't know what tomorrow holds or what it will bring.
But somehow I know my true heart will always sing!
As I look into this very day I see things happening oh so great!
I don't worry about the rest of life as I have an eternal date.

First of all we might ask the question - just what are we afraid of? The definition of fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by expectation or awareness of danger. So with that said, it gives us a lot of things, we as human beings, are fearful of.
Just take a look around you. There is always something new in the news about wars, terrorism, crime and just the fears brought on by day to day living. If you have children in school you may fear for their safety. If satan has you bound up in fear let me tell you, God has given us freedom from fear if only we obey him and trust him.
The word freedom, in the dictionary, means set free. Which means you are no longer bound by fear. In other words set free from fear by God's promises and your trust in Him. We as Christians are not to fear man. When we are covered by the precious blood of Jesus we don't have to walk in fear and dread. God's word is awesome.
In Psalms 27:3 it says "Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this I will be confident." This verse alone is enough to put much needed peace and joy in our hearts that it should free us from fear.
In Psalms 56:4 it says, "In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me." This verse states what we as Christians should be doing anyway and that is trusting God. God is our whole source of everything.

I was the type of person who always thought
Going to the doctor was the plan I sought
Until something happened that very special night
With the help of God I gave drugs a fight
I had to take medicine for quite a long time
Had to abide by the doctors rules and rhyme
By the grace of God and my husband so dear
I now walk each day with lots less fear
After receiving that holy heavenly touch from above
I had a different step more like a sweet little dove
Medicines begin to fall off one by one
Today I do love and appreciate the Son
When I have a problem I go to Him in prayer
One thing I know is that He will always meet me there
My perspective on others and life has changed
All my thoughts have been re-arranged

The lamb, the lion and the king is a song I sometimes sing.
It makes my heart so happy when my problems to Him I bring.
This is an Easter poem and it comes from my heart to yours.
Just know that God is able and in Him we shall endure.
We may have problems that arise in our daily walk in life
Think of Jesus and the pain He suffered, heartache and strife.
He was blameless and even the king said this as it is said in the Good Book.

I was so happy as to church I went today
My body was tired from no sleep but less medicine is on the way
I haven't been able to review as much as I would like to do
Hopefully that will get better as my time with Jesus has always been true
I look at my messages number and I get so outdone
For me anymore it's not ever being number one
I just want to review to read of people's smile
Help them to know to keep on writing it seems like a long mile

I look out the window with sleep still in my eyes. I can tell it will be another beautiful day. I twitch and turn still wondering if I should stay or get up. There is not one to tell me what to do. I look in the mirror to see if I have dark circles under my eyes. Not sure what the night had in store for me. The dreams come out of nowhere and I can't control them. I find myself waking at noon at times and I am saddened that my day has been cut short. When I have seen that the daylight has come through it makes my heart happy and glad. It means I have lived through another night of tossing and turning. It doesn't seem to matter what I take or don't take. Nothing seems to help me rest well at night. So I enjoy resting in the daylight and finally drifting off to sleep. I guess when I worked the long hours at JPD it didn't help me regulate my body like it should. I remember being told by the nurse that examined me that I was going to be screwed up sleep wise. They told me the truth about that. That is why on Sunday mornings I can't wake up in time to go to church. That makes me very upset since I am one of the singers of the church. I am sure that God knows my heart and my intentions as well. I pray that I get to go back very soon.
From the time daylight rises until the setting sun is my favorite time of all. It's the whole day and night that makes me happy. There's not just one particular time for me is what I am saying. God made this day and this night also. It is all important to me. I thank. Him in the morning, I thank Him all through the day and I thank him at bedtime too. He has blessed me with so much to be thankful for I could never thank Him enough. I count my blessings and think of all my family and friends. One day I will get to go to Heaven to see my loved ones there. I have so many more there than I do here. I didn't mean to just ramble on and on, but this is what came to my mind as I was writing this. This story came from my heart and I hope you can tell that.
Another day will come and I will start all over again. I will do my daily chores and sing my songs to Him. I know that some do not believe in Jesus but I truly do. I could not make it without Him at all. I hope that this is what you are looking for in this contest. I have done my very best to try to do it right. I don't have to win, but I want to do it right. God bless you all.

I had a wonderful thing happen to me today
As I watched singers on TV I begin to pray
I have been bothered by something as of late
It all came down on me on this very date
Tears started welling up in my very tired eyes
It was the hand of Jesus which was no surprise
He gave me a peace that was lacking within
The enemy was trying to steal my joy again
I started to praise my wonderful Savior on high
He promised to never leave me high and dry
He showed me he cared for me so very much
I really needed His heavenly love and powerful touch
Some may not believe me at all I do know
I felt the strong power of Jesus and a smile started to show
I truly believe I will have a good sleep as I lay my head down
He can take a troubled soul and truly turn it around
Tonight I have peace and joy down deep in me
I am finally happy with my Jesus you see
This was a miracle that I needed for such peace
I was burdened down and needed that release
I will never doubt my Savior and best friend
I will shout it loud over and over again
This truly happened to me this afternoon

Stopped and did inventory on my heart today

Today is not just another day

Yesterday I received a phone call from my middle son, Timothy. He started out, "Hey mom. What are you doing?" Nibbling on my dinner I stopped chewing so I could answer him. "Just eating dinner. What's up with you?" We chatted for quite awhile before he got to the subject that was bothering him. He works for the Social Security Administration as a lawyer for the judge. He helps the judge make the decisions on the cases.
"Mom, you're a Republican aren't you?" I thought really hard about that for a minute and then answered ,"I vote for the person that has the best and realistic campaign." He got real quiet for a moment and started back up, "Mom would you vote for Trump or Hillary?" I thought this is a really odd question. I said, "Tim, where are you going with this?" Drinking a sip of my water I listened as he talked. "Mom, I know where you live there are not as many homeless people, but here there are so many and no one to help them." I said, " I know son. It's really a sad thing to happen to people."
Then he continued with, "Mom there are some people that doesn't have anybody. There is this woman that is always outside Trader Joe's when I stop in to get something. Today I followed her into the store. I kept going down each aisle that she went down. I noticed she only had a few items in her cart. I finally got the nerve to walk up to her and introduce myself to her. I asked her what did she need from this store. She told me a few items and I told her that I would buy her some groceries. We went down some aisles and got a few things.
She then started to talk to me about her life. She had been married a long time ago but her husband had died and left her with nothing. She didn't have any family at all."
"Son, that was so very sad." I thought for a minute that we had lost our connection until I heard his tearful voice saying, "Mom, I did all I could do for her, but it didn't seem to be enough for me."
He started to tell me more about the lady. He said, "mom, she is going to school to try to graduate at the age of 50. She was trying to find some paper and pens for her school stuff. They didn't have everything she needed so we checked out. I helped her get home with her groceries."
"Mom, after I left her I went home and just sat down and cried. I couldn't stop crying. There are so many people like that in the world and nobody is trying to help them. The government don't help them."
"Tim, just know that what you did was a great thing for her and I am sure she appreciated it."
"Mom, she kept on thanking me."
Next Day
I decided to call Timothy and check on him. He answered in his usual cheerful voice. I asked him about his day and he started telling me about that lady again. He had stopped at another store on his way home from work and got the items she didn't have for school and found her and gave them to her. I was so very proud of my son for helping this lady out.
It makes me feel good to know that we raised our three sons right. I thank God for all three of my sons. I hope this touches your heart like it did mine. This is just a very small part of my life but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Today is the day after Thanksgiving
I feel so blessed because what has transpired
I was able to be with all three of my sons.
My two daughter in laws, and grandson too
My husband and I enjoyed our day of thanks
I give God and Jesus all the glory and honor
I know without him I would not have been able
to see all my sons together this way
This is just to let you know how happy I am and
How Great Jesus and God are.

Sometimes I sit and ponder.
Thinking of it makes me truly wonder.
What was it like to walk side by side with Jesus?
To write prophesies to countless!
To be able to walk with him side by side.
To talk to my teacher and loving guide.
Knowing Him was my greatest pleasure.
With Him in my life it's a true treasure.
I realize I have that joy in my heart today.
As He is right here with me every night and day.
He is closer than a sister or brother.
I esteem Him above all other.
If you are longing for that feeling today.
Just reach out and touch Him is all I can say.
He hears every word you think or say.
He's the difference in night and day.

I look to the cross when I'm feeling blue.
I just call on Jesus as He knows exactly what to do.
He can calm the raging storm and answer my pleas.
I know He can help me as He knows my urgent needs.
I look to the cross when sadness comes my way.
I fall to my knees and cry out to Him and pray.
I ask for His guidance and how to proceed.
All we have to do is ask, trust and believe.
I look to the cross when my heart is full of praise.
I look upwards to the cross as my hands are raised.
I look to the cross when things seem to go wrong.
I look to the cross as that's where my heart grows strong.
During the good times and the bad.
During times of happiness and times of being sad.
Look to the old rugged cross and you will see.
Jesus made a way for you and me.

Life is better when we all get along.
It makes the world seem to sing a new song.
When for others a smile does reside.
Keeps away feelings we must sometimes hide.
When we reach out to our sisters and brothers,
It's so much better when we help each other.
When you see someone down and out and starting to mope,
Let them know the reason you have a strong hope.
Give a kind word to all you meet and greet.
Let them know you don't live a life of defeat.
Let them know about that joy from deep within!
Tell them about your Jesus forgiving all your sin.
He gave it all for us on the cross that day.
Trust and believe in Him, what more can I say.
His word is true and will always be.
He changed my life and now I truly see!

When I awaken He is on my mind.
He is true to form, always sweet and kind.
He walks with me in heartaches and brings comfort to my soul.
When He is with me I know I am being made whole.
He is the most awesome love I have ever known.
His tenderness and love is beyond what is usually shown.
He gives me living water to quench this dry, thirsty land.
I hope one day you will realize in this world he's one to understand.
What's so neat about Him is you want to share His love.
It's not like earthly man, but so much better as it's from above.

God is always working on good things for His children. I speak from knowing. He is always blessing me in so many ways. I can see Him in the beauty of the sky and the earth. I can hear Him in the whisper of the winds blowing in the trees. I can see Him in the beauty of a newborn baby with the love on the parents faces.
God is so real, it is hard for me to comprehend why so many do not believe.
I, myself, do get saddened at times, due to my sons not truly believing in God. Of course I do pray for all three of my sons and their mates.
I know what the Bible says about bringing up your children, which we did. It is just so hard some days to deal with attitudes of non-believers, whether family or friends.
I must say I feel sorry for those that do not believe, because there is joy in knowing God and loving Him.
After Jonathon left for work, Tom fixed Greyson his oatmeal as Greyson and I played with his cash register we got him a couple of nights ago. Tom had found some play money with the dollar bills and coins in it. He loved playing grocery store even more then.
As I would show him the denomination on each bill he would repeat after me.
After he sat down at his Paw Patrol table in his Paw Patrol chair I turned Mickey Mouse on for him to watch as he ate.
Needless to say, the oatmeal was not something he wanted to eat this morning. Tom ended up making Toast and jelly for him. He ate that really good.
We do feed him the food they buy for him at the store. His mom is into organic food and that is good.
Around noon, I got a call from Jonathon.
He had to go to a customers house about a piano not sounding right. He is a piano technician and is really good at what he does.
I get this phone call about twelve thirty from Jonathon and he said, "Mom, I was fixing to take the $400.00 check from the customer to Uncle Johnny but I can't find it."
Uncle Johnny is my uncle and Jonathon has worked for him many years.
I sat there knowing there was nothing physically I could do to help him, but I knew who could and would, so I said, "Son, let me say a prayer about this."
He didn't say no and didn't complain. He said, "O.K. mom."
I said a prayer and at the end he said, " Thanks mom!"
We hung up and I went about the day folding clothes and doing dishes, while Tom played games with Greyson in his room.
The next thing I know I have a phone call from Jonathon. It went something like this - "Mom, you will never believe what happened?"
"What is it, son?"
"You remember you prayed about that check?"
I said, "We sure did."
He said, "Mom, I went back to the gas station and talked to the people there. That check somehow was laying on the parking lot. A customer saw it and brought it in to the gas station people. Mom, I could hardly believe it!"
I was so happy when he told me about this. I had to thank God for answering another prayer!
The best part after that was Jonathon calling Uncle Johnny and telling him the whole story. Uncle Johnny was really nice and told Jonathon not to bother coming out today with it, that he could bring it to work with him in the morning.
Unless you know the whole story it won't matter, but here it is.
Jonathon is good about wanting to take the easy way out on some things, and today was one of those times.
I talked with him and explained the right thing to do would be to go back where he got the gas from and ask them if they had seen the check and we would pray about it. Which we did both things.
When God answers a prayer it is not just that simple prayer request we have. Sometimes he is answering a request that covers so much more than what we ask for. What an amazing God we serve.
The more I trust Him and believe in Him the more He does. That is why I am always upbeat most of the time.
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Just know that God loves all His children and wants to do things for them. Just trust, believe and talk to Him.
