Chapter 1
The Horse and Me

By Teri7

Author Note:This is totally all true

Growing up, on the street I lived on,there was never a dull moment. I lived in the house with my mother, father, sister and two bothers. I was the oldest, but was treated like the baby. Go figure!

One very hot summer day, when my best friend and I were outside playing paper dolls in the yard, we kept hearing noises. Just weird sounding ones. We kept looking up and down the road. But we never saw anything. Where we lived there was a place where we could hide from everybody. And we did that quite well.

Well, my best friend and I were the tom boys of the group. My sister never did climb much. So my best friend got up in the tree first. She got up to the very highest limb and said come on up. Well, this tree was very oddly shaped It really reminded me of a weird looking snake.. And it was not as sturdy as I wanted it to be. But I decided I would try it anyway. So up I go.

I made it up to where she was  and we found out what the noise finally was. We looked down underneath us and there was a horse standing right under the tree. The horse was eating a green apple it had found somewhere. It was chomping on it so good too.  We were so afraid to jump down. We had no one to call for help and we could not get down. So we decided to pick limbs off of the tree and throw at the horse. Do you think it made it move? No way. That horse started making funny sounds and showing his or her really big teeth. And boy were they big. So we were stuck, oh but good!

All of a sudden we heard my best friends mom call her name out. You would think she had used a megaphone to call out her name Vivian. If I had not been so scared I would have been embarassed. She lived right across the street from me. Her mom saw that horse and went back inside and got her husband. He came out with the BB gun and ran the horse off. Now he did not hurt the horse. He just shot around it. But we were so relieved to get down. My best friend and I finally got down without a scrape or a bruise. And we always made sure there was no  horse around before we climbed again. Whew. What a close call!

Did I tell you about the time the bear escaped from the circus and was in my Grandmother's back yard? Oh well. That is another story. Sorry. But I have to tell you my next story is about the snake and me. You will love this one. I promise. It's as much fun as the bear.

Author Notes I hope you like this but the comment about the bear at the end is very true. My life is full of jokes. I mean real life ones. lol

Chapter 1
Greyson

By Teri7

Good and sweet with an angel's face.
Ready for action you cant misplace.
Every time he sees us he has a big smile.
Young at heart but walks many miles.
Searches for the toys so he can play.
Only two years old! what more can I say.
Never a dull moment with him.

Chapter 2
Going to be with Our Greyson!

By Teri7

Author Note:Funny now but not then

Another very hot, muggy day on Liddon Street in Tennessee. I wonder if Vivian is up yet? I guess I can call her and see. I know her dad is really not the nicest of persons but since she is my best friend I have to deal with it anyway. And her older, ugly brother has a crush on me. Gee, I am a teen and he is so fat and ugly he makes me sick but that is not what I am here for. Let me give Vivian a quick call and see if she is up and ready for some fun.

Well everything is set on go now. She is walking across the street and we decided we would loop a garden hose through the top of the tree, and try to swing on it. Isn't that a great idea? Yea, I thought so. See, I am a genious, aren't I? Well, maybe not that good, but pretty good? huh?

For some reason, of all days, Vivian decides she wants me to try it first. So I act really brave and I tell her to throw the hose up to me so I can tie it really good. Well I see the green hose coming down, but not coming up. I called down to Vivian and I told her that she was not doing something right. I mean the hose was supposed to be coming up, right? Not going down! She said I think you need to jump down now. I said what are you talking about. She said I have the hose still in my hand. I said what?

Look beside you at that snake. I begin to shake, I had chill bumps all over me. I cannot stand snakes. I could not move at all. Vivian ran inside and got her father to come out, He grabbed the snake and sent it on it's way since it was just a green garden snake. They finally talked me down. I know this sounds very minute to some people but it scared the living daylights out of me. When you think the hose you are tying is coming up at you then it is a scary thing.

Can you believe, after all, that Vivian picked a snake up and was holding it close to me? I wanted to smack her really big time! But I did not. Hmm. Another fun day on Liddon Street. Oh yes there are more fun times to come. Hang in there with me.

Author Notes Oh the good old days. But I still don't like snakes to this day.

Chapter 2
Going to Greyson's

By Teri7

It is 7:34 a.m. and I am eagerly awaiting going to see our grandson. He is not the chipper little guy that he ends up being after we have been with him awhile during the day. He has to wear a patch some days to help correct his lazy eye. He has the most beautiful brown eyes. He has more expression in his eyes than most people do with their mouth; me included.

The first thing he wants to do is take mine or Tom's hand and head to his playroom. He always looks so adorable when he first wakes up. I smile to myself and thank God that He gave me such a perfect grandson. I know everyone thinks their grandchild is perfect and that is just the way we are. By the time we get there I think he should eat his breakfast, but it's not so much what Greyson wants to do. He has other things in mind. I think children prefer playing over food at any time, grandparents are a different story.

We meander into the day and do things that make him happy and feel safe while momma and dada are at work. Believe me, he calls out momma and dada often during the course of the day, but that is ok.

Walking around the house, I follow Greyson's sweet little voice until I finally find him and my son. I walk past Gus, who is the Golden Retriever, pet him on the head and say kind words to him. I just love that dog.

After Jonathon has left for work, Greyson, Tom and I settle in the kitchen to get breakfast for us. That is one of the highlights for me. I know this may sound odd, but even though I am tired at the end of the day and many steps we have made, I truly miss him when we leave. He is a true joy.

Chapter 3
Not Another Snake?

By Teri7

Author Note:Joey Blackmon

I need to make this perfectly clear to some that read my work. This is written by me from when I was a teen, not now. So please read it and review it as such. Thanks you. Now the story begins.

This picture gives you a little idea of what I looked like when I was in my teens. I had brown hair. I always used the product' Sun In' on it to give it the streaks. Vivian, on the other hand, was just a mousy brown color. She always looked like a little turtle to me. That is the honest truth. Now don't get me wrong. She was very sweet, but not very attractive to guys that much. But I loved her as my best friend.

She and I would always walk up and down our street. It was a really long street. From one end to the next. We got plenty of exercise. But this day we got all the way to the very end of the road. And my mother always said do not go that far. But something inside just said it wont' hurt, just once.

Well, Vivian and I started to cross over to the other side of the street. There was a really good looking guy there. His name was Joey Blackmon. I will never forget him. He was so goodlooking. In fact I named my cat Joey. I don't know if it was a girl cat or a boy cat but I still named it Joey.

There was a little store at the end of the road. We went in and bought some 'Pixie Sticks' and stuff like that. And we were fixing to cross back over when something caught our eyes. You will not believe this, but it was a horse. Yes, it was a horse coming down East Chester street in broad daylight. We got so excited we knew we had to get back across the street and we stepped down into something. I just knew it hurt really bad. But we just kept walking and talking.

The further we got toward our house we could see blood. Everywhere I stepped was a puddle of blood. I had stepped on a broken coke bottle. I was in so much pain and scared too. I walked into the house and my mother saw the blood. I just knew she would be kind and loving to me with my foot split wide open. But was I in for a wild surprise!

She said you are messing up my clean floor! I thought. Oh my God, my foot is opened up and she is worrying about her floor. Well we were put into the vehicle and taken to the doctors office. Back then it was not like the doctors now. I mean you get lots of numbing shots now. It's a lot easier to deal with. But not back then. They had to sew me up good. And boy did it hurt. And yes, I did get a good lecture about going to the end of the road. But you know what? I think it was worth it, just getting to see Joey Blackmon.

But to make matters worse that day my mom went to go to work and my cat was in the hood of the car. He (I guess he was a boy cat after all) jumped out and ran off.

Note## My friend, Joey Blackmon, is now dead and it really hurt me. He was a great friend of mine.I sm speaking of the guy Joey not the cat. But the cat was gone too!

Author Notes I hope that some of you are enjoy some of these tales they are all true and there will be some really good ones in here too. Thank you for reading. Teri

Chapter 3
My Grandson Greyson

By Teri7

On February 6th, 2014, I was blessed with a darling baby boy. His name is Greyson, Hart, King. He is my oldest sons' child. He has dark hair and an amazing smile. He is now six months old and can do all kind of things. He laughs and giggles. He dances and jumps around. He is a total joy to be around. His father is a musician and I feel he will follow in his footsteps. He has the cutest chubby cheeks. I have pictures of him but I don't know how to post them on here. You would fall in love with him for sure. Maybe one day I can figure it out or when my sons brings him over I am sure he can do it for me. Greyson sure has my heart. Having Greyson around has helped my health. I thank God for him. He is now cutting teeth. He loves to laugh. I got to see him today.

Author Notes I am so happy to be a grandmother. Thanks angel heart for the great artwork.

Chapter 4
Slipping and Sliding with Rocky

By Teri7

Author Note:MeeMaw Gone but no forgetten

My Grandmother was like an angel to me. If was her. She was mostly Cherokee Indian but to me she was MeeMaw. And I was her favorite.

Like all hot summer days on Liddon Street, we would turn on the water and run through the sprinkler and get good and wet and wash her porch down good. I mean we would really wash it down real good.

She had a really nice pine tree next to her house. All those pine leaves would come down on the porch and on the top of her house. We would try to get them off the porch but I was not climbing up on the roof. It was way too steep for me.

We just so happened to get the broom wet trying to sweep the pine needles off it. Well my meemaw was not a mean person but she got aggravated at us kids. She told us not to get the broom wet. Well, of course we already did that.

My sister and I knew by that time our tails were in a crack that we could not get it out of. We were sweating and it was not from the Tennessee heat.

My meemaw had a dog named Rocky. He was just a plain old mut. Really cute and sweet, but just a plain old mut.

One thing you have to know about my meemaw is that if she ever got an idea in her head she had to have it done... then, not tomorrow or the next day but(right) then. She said she wanted the dog washed. Oh my goodness. My mom told her to leave the dog alone and she would take care of it soon.

(I forget to tell you my meemaw was very short and very stocky. Part indian and part Irish.)

Well, it would not do but to give Rocky a bath in the bath tub. As she was putting the water in the tub I ask her what she was doing. She looks at me like I am crazy and says just what do you think I am doing? I am fixing to give Rocky a bath and do not tell Dorothy (which is my mother's name).(I thought Jesus help me please) The water was filling up quite nicely I just stood there watching the tub with soap in hand.

Somehow she gets Rocky to climb into the tub and she bends over and starts to scrub on the dog. That is when all heck broke loose. I mean I let out a scream and everybody started running. Meemaw fell in the tub with the water and the dog ran out of the house.

My mother was so mad at her mother but was worried about her too. I mean it was like getting a tow truck to get my meemaw out of the bathtub and that is the truth. (giggle giggle)

We had to take her to the doctor and find Rocky. Gee, what a wonderful day this is turning out to be. See what fun I had growing up! Hmm! Did anybody else enjoy being a kid?

Well, we come back home and meemaw had a cast on because she broke her arm and Rocky was found. She lambasted Rocky out. For what reason I do not know. He is just a dog. I mean he was trying to escape. I was right behind him. I felt sorry for him. I knew how he felt.

And I guess you all know what that meant for me and my sister for the next six weeks right? no? Oh ok. I will tell you. We had to do the dishes for our grandmother and go over and sit with her and make sure she did not fall when she went to the potty and make sure the dog did not get out of the house again. All of this over a clean dog. Oh my goodness.

And for good measure you have to know that my grandmother has the cutest smirk of all people. You cannot get mad at her. She just tilts her head and there it is. She did it again!

Author Notes I was my MeeMaw's favorite of all. I loved her so much.

Chapter 7
Surprise!

By Teri7

Tom and I were getting ready to go baby sit Greyson today. It was between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Tom answered his phone and heard this sweet little voice saying, "Mama, Mama." Tom walked over to where I was, just grinning. Not sure how he ended that conversation, but we both had a smile on our face.

Tom stated, "I guess Greyson got his dad's phone and dialed my number." I told him I guessed that made him really special. We both laughed again and quickly decided to get on the road.

After we ended up at Greyson's, my son looked at Tom and said, "I did not call you. That was Greyson!"

It caused another round of laughs by all of us.

Greyson was a little out of character today. I just know that coming from being home with mommy and daddy for two days, and then back with me and Tom is different for him. I do know he loves us all very much. He's a very happy and carefree little guy. Today he is two years and four months old. He is trying his best to talk. He tries to make sentences, but it has not happened yet. He says some words, but mommy and daddy are afraid that is not enough. So we patiently work with him every day. Let's just say he does a whole lot of jabbering.

We had our regular type of day. We played, watched kiddie shows, sang and danced, then ate lunch. Greyson had his fun time with Mammaw and the Orange Sherbet as we both like that. Finally it was time for dad to come home.

I felt we had accomplished a lot today. I folded two baskets of clothes and Tom put them where they belonged. It is always a team effort there. We love to help since they are both working full time and raising Greyson.

Greyson is our Big little blessing!

Just so you all know, this is for Greyson for the future, so he will know about his days with Mammaw and PapPap.

Chapter 8
Good Ole' Gus

By Teri7

I just didn't know that today might be the day that I would contribute to the demise of good ole Gus!

Got to Greyson's about the same time as always. As we entered the house everything seemed to be normal. Gus was in his kennel and Greyson was sitting at the table getting ready for breakfast that his dad had fixed for him.

I walked over to the table and sat down with Greyson to try to persuade him to eat. Of course that task is not as easy as it would seem. He still can't talk really well but he has uh uh down pat. Me, being me, decided he was going to have a nice day anyway. So I decided to get his mind off his hurting gums by bringing out an ink pen. A smile came across his face. I do know what it takes at times to make him happy. I started drawing on a piece of paper for him. I started out with a cat and dog, but decided I would try another type of animal. Not sure where I got the idea I could draw a zebra but there it was. Greyson loved it. He kept pointing to it for me to draw some more.

It was really time for him to eat some breakfast so I put up the drawing tools. He didn't like that at all. I guess you could say he had crocodile tears for a few minutes that I wiped away for him. It so happened I was walking out of the kitchen area into the laundry room/Gus kennel room. Every time I look at Gus I get so emotional. He is a very sweet and lovable puppy dog.

I always feel so sorry for him, I try to sneak him some of his food that won't be missed. Now that I have said that maybe you will understand the rest of the story. I walked back into the kitchen area to see what Tom and Greyson were up to. I dilly dallied around with them for a little bit and happened to walk back around and see Gus. You have to know that I have a really big heart when it comes to cats and dogs. We have seven girl cats at home that we love.

I walked back to the laundry area and saw Gus' box of food. Hmm? Should I or not? I remember what Tom told me about feeding him between his meal time so I decided not to, this time. Gus really look disgusted with me, like he wanted to say, "You are just a big chicken. I thought you loved me".

Aha! I looked around a bit more and saw his favorite ball close at hand. Of course the wheels were spinning in my head. I guessed if I couldn't feed him I could always put his ball in the kennel with him. Problem solved, or so I thought. That is not the way it ended though.

I walked back into the living room and got Greyson to get up with me in the recliner and watch some Sesame Street. We watched it and laughed a lot. Greyson was getting tired so I moved from the recliner and sat on the couch. In a few minutes, he was curled up with a blanket sound asleep. My little angel!

Tom walked over to me and said, "Do you know what you have done?"
I looked at him and said, No I really don't know this time. What did I do now?"
He gave me a stern look and said, "Gus ate the rubber ball. Now he will have a really messed up stomach and it might even kill him!"

That was all I needed to hear in order for me to start bawling my eyes out. I could just see my son and daughter -in-law balling me out since I killed Gus, what next.

My son finally walked in and was his usual jolly self, but me I was in tears.
The first thing he said was, "Mom, what's wrong with you?"
I couldn't talk I was crying so hard. I said, " I think I killed Gus but I didn't mean to."
He said, "Mom, look at Gus. He is fine. What are you talking about?"
I walked away still sobbing. I heard Tom and Jonathon still talking.
Finally my son walked over to me and let me lay my head on his shoulder. Then he said, "You and Tom need to get going as it might rain here."
So Tom and I gathered up our daily stuff we bring to Greyson's every day and headed home. I was just thankful that later in the night I talked with Jonathon and he said Gus was fine.

This is my story about Good Ole Gus! I do hope you enjoy it and I hope it makes some sense to you.

Author Notes It really did have me upset. I do love that dog and the last thing I would want to do to him is be the reason for his demise. Hope you enjoy my true story. Thanks to Maddie by Barb Baker for the great art work. looks just like our Gus.

Chapter 10
A Lesson Learned

By Teri7

As I sit here looking around at the tops hanging up in my closet, my mind goes back to my grandson, Greyson. Would this top make him smile .........or maybe this one would do the trick?

Amazing how one little person, like my grandson, truly changed the way I talk, dress and think. I finally focused on this top that makes me think I look like a clown. I really didn't like this top for some reason, but because of Greyson I do love it now!
O.K. this is the top I will wear, I'm thinking.

As we got to Greyson's the top didn't even cross my mind! Walking in the house my heart was filled with hope. Hope that I would make Greyson smile and teach him more things that he doesn't know about Jesus and life. My goal is to take time with my grandson and let him always know he is truly loved by us and by Jesus. I think all children should learn that in their little life.

He always makes me smile and learn a little more about me each day. I truly thank God for this time I have in my life with my grandson, Greyson.

God bless you all.

Chapter 11
May 27, 2016

By Teri7

Today is May 27, 2016. When we arrived at Greyson's it was business as usual. Greyson was in his enjoyable mood, but when his daddy left to go to work that changed. He started to cry, not just a short cry but a big one. That always breaks my heart.

Finally I got his attention to the t-shirt I was wearing. I had a sparkly t-shirt that said, "It's a grandma thing." He loved the pink, purple, teal blue and white in the letters and flowers. He would point to each letter for me to say it to him and he got amused with the way I said it.

He decided to follow me to where the T.V. was and we started watching some of his favorite programs. First of all there was Bubble Guppies, Emma's Theatre, Little Pet Shop and Dinosaur Train. We danced and played all morning long.

It is now about 12:22 p.m. and he ate most of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. His mother always cuts it up nicely and puts it in a plastic baggie. We sat there and ate and watched some of his programs. The next thing I know it's close to 1:30 p.m. I see out of the corner of my eyes Pap Pap bringing the rest of the rainbow sherbet to Greyson and I.

As we were finishing up the sherbet we realized it was time for daddy to be getting home. Cleaned Greyson up and had him ready to ride with his daddy.
Now he is playing with Pap Pap and watching "Lamb Chop's play along.

Sitting in the chair, waiting on Jonathon to get home I just relax and reflect on the happy day and all the love I felt in this home from this sweet child and his puppy, Gus. I am truly a blessed woman.

I hope you enjoy this day with Greyson.

Teresa (Teri)

Author Notes Just so you will not be confused my mother nick named me Teri when I was a little girl. When I started writing I used my nick name for whatever reasons. Now it's between Teri and Teresa.

Chapter 12
Having Fun outside with Greyson

By Teri7

Greyson is always so excited when it's time for his dad to come home. He waits and listens for the sound of the Hummer pulling up into the drive. He knows it's time he gets to go out and enjoy the beautiful day.

As soon as Jonathon (his dad and my son) gets in the house we go out the side door with Gus, the dog, and straight to the swing set. He loves sliding on his slide. He also loves swinging on all the different swings he has. He always has a sweet smile on that precious face.

He is a true mammaw boy. I love that little guy so much. Sorry this picture is kind of blurry but I hope it gives you a sense of some of my joy.

Author Notes I hope to get some better pictures on here soon. Thanks for reading.

Chapter 13
Tuesday with Greyson

By Teri7

Today pretty much started out like most of the days arriving at Greysons' house. He was his same little cute self. My son always has him dressed so cute when we get there. Of course after breakfast we have a whole new story. The first thing that caught my eyes was his sniffling and slight runny nose. Didn't think too much about it when my son said he slept under the A/C.

As Tom was making breakfast, I got Greyson to come with me in the living room and watch something I had picked out and recorded for him to watch. It was basically about Jesus and being a good person for little ones from age two up to five. He was mesmerized by it. He and I sang with all the songs and tried to dance with the ones that had the music for dancing.

When it came time for breakfast I sat down beside him like I usually do. He always loves to share my breakfast with me. The neat thing about keeping Greyson is I don't have to worry about gaining too much weight since I am up and down all day going up steps and sharing my food with him.

It was another wonderful and blessed day with my Greyson!

Chapter 14
Some New Words for Greyson

By Teri7

Greyson decided to say a few new words yesterday at dinner with my son and his wife ( Greyson's mom and dad). We were sitting across the table when all of a sudden my son said, "Mom, did you hear what he said?"

I looked at him and Sha and said, "No, I really didn't."

Jonathon said, " He said Mammaw." Which is what he knows me as. I almost fell backwards. We have tried and tried to get him to say it but I guess it had to be on his own little terms.

Before he said that he was trying to say something else. I kept questioning him ,to no avail. Finally I got up and took his little hand and he had me go to his playroom with him. He kept saying what sounded like bobble. But it turned out he was trying to say bubbles.

So that is the extent of his new words. He has learned to bow his head while we say our blessing at the table. Then he looks up and gives a very big smile.

When we aren't playing in the play room I am sitting in the chair in the living room with him with either Dinosaur Train, Daniel Tiger's neighborhood, Cat in the Hat or Sesame Street. Of course we end up with others too.

I do sing happy songs to him and with him. He has great rhythm and loves to dance so, we get our exercise in all day long.

Hope you enjoy my post about my Greyson. Thanks for reading.

Chapter 15
Greyson finally meets Mickey Mouse!

By Teri7

Greyson and his family finally left Friday, about 5:30 in the afternoon,
to head and see Mickey Mouse. He was as excited as any two year old could be. He was excited enough that he did not take his nap and was really tired.

This picture on here is not with Greyson, of course, but I don't have a picture to share as of yet.
Got to talk to my son when they reached Memphis to stay and rest until they headed to California. I saw pictures of Jonathon, Sha and Greyson in the plane. They all did look happy in that picture. They called me when they landed in Anaheim, CA. They were all three very tired, but were heading to bed so Greyson could see Mickey Mouse the next day.

I talked to my son the next morning and they were on the way to see Mickey Mouse. Greyson had a cute little Mickey Mouse shirt. He always looks so adorable to me. I am slowly coping with the fact that we will not see Greyson again until Tuesday and I won't lie and say that it is easy, but I know I am truly blessed to see him as much as I get to.

Tom and I were working on things in the house when I got a call on my cell phone from Jonathon. I said, " Hello."
I hear this happy, but tired voice from my son.
"Hey mom. We are fixing to go in to to see Mickey Mouse. I just wanted you to know."

My son had tried to Face time with me so I could see Greyson, but it failed. So I went about my business and said a prayer for them to be safe and happy. To be perfectly honest I think this trip was more for Jonathon and Sha as they work all week long and needed to have some fun.

It was now about 9:00 p.m. here in Tennessee. I get a call from Jonathon.

"Hey mom. We are getting ready for bed. When Greyson saw Mickey Mouse he started crying really hard. I thought he would like him like he does on T.V., but I guess he was too big and it scared him. I guess you know about those type of things since when we were little we went places and were scared."

"I do know, but I am just happy he finally got to see him. Are you guys doing ok?"

"Yes, just really tired. You do know that when it is 9 there it is 7 here, right?"

"No, but I do now." I said with a giggle.

"O.K. mom, we are going to head to bed as we are going to Lego Land tomorrow."

"O.K." son. Have fun and take care of my Greyson. Love you."

"Love you too!"

So we have gone to his house and fed the horse, Bell and have his Golden Retriever puppy, Gus, here at home with us, so it's not so sad. Can't wait for Tuesday to get here so I can get my hug from my Greyson.

I hope you all have a wonderful day or night.

Chapter 16
Greyson's Trip

By Teri7

Today is Thursday and I am a bit sad.

On Friday afternoon, after work, my son; his wife and my Greyson will leave for San Diego and Disney world. They are taking their vacation and we get to puppy sit our Gus.

They will be visiting our youngest son, Jeremy, who lives in San Diego.

Our twin sons, Timothy and Jeremy, will be 28 on June 29th! We were supposed to get to go but it didn't work out that way. It's just as well since Gus needed someone to keep him. I am so happy to have Gus around for 10 days with our 7 cats. I know it will be so much fun!

Please say a prayer for our children and especially for our Greyson going on this trip. Pray for their safety and good time.

I only have that one picture of Greyson now. My computer had a virus and had to have it worked on. When I got it back from the shop I found all my pictures to be gone. I will work on getting some more on my computer when my son gets back from their trip.

God bless all that read this! Teri (Teresa)

Chapter 17
My Little Joy

By Teri7

His deep brown eyes totally mesmerize me.
When I look at him pure love is all I see.
That sweet little mouth that he uses so well.
Words spurt out and stories he tries to tell.

His favorite thing seems to be dancing around and around.
One of these days he's going to end up on the ground.
His smile is pure, genuine and sweet to see.
Happiness flows from his heart to you and me.

Being with him day in and day out is a great thing.
When I first see him in the morning my heart does sing.
The look on his face when I walk in the door is one of joy.
Then on to other things like his very favorite fun toy.

Chapter 18
Potty Training?

By Teri7

Today started out pretty much the same way, until later on up in the day when Greyson came to me making his stinky face! Okay, a stinky face means that he probably has had a bowel movement in his potty pants. I sat there for a few minutes and thought about trying to deal with it the best way I could. Tom had gone home for a few minutes and left me here with Greyson. Of course that is the way it should be right? Maybe so. I looked at that cute little face and said, "Okay. Come on Greyson. Let's go to the bathroom."

He looked at me like I told him I wanted to kill the dog, but came trotting into the bathroom with me. I looked in the restroom for a potty for him. I thankfully found it. I don't think I told you I had a miserable headache at this point in the day, well I did. I let the headache pass and I walked over to Greyson and said, "Okay, come over here to Mammaw and let's try to use your potty!

I tried to be a energetic as all get out, but don't think that is the way it come across to him.
I kept an eye out for him as he was wiggling a lot. All of a sudden I saw Greyson start to run the other direction. I thought this is just fine and dandy!

We proceeded with the day and finally my son, Jonathon, came home from work. Thankfully Greyson was ready for daddy and wanted to go riding with him. I explained to Jonathon about our bathroom encounter and he was excited and thought Greyson had used his potty. Needless to say I had to explain to him it didn't really work that way.

So Tom and I gathered our things together, kissed Jonathon and Greyson and left. Another fun day with Greyson.

Until the next time!

Chapter 19
August 1, 2016

By Teri7

Woke up to another wonderful day with so much in store for me and my family. I did not realize what was ahead for me to learn about Greyson today. I just knew I have always been able to feel certain things and not be really sure what they were until it happened.

As I was getting dressed for the day I begin to look at tops that would make Greyson smile. Didn't see any that struck me as a "Greyson type of day", but I saw a blouse that had print like maybe a zebra, so I decided to wear that one. It was not one of the most comfortable ones, especially with Greyson climbing on me and doing his little guy stuff, but it won out.

We walked in the door and I saw Greyson's breakfast sitting on the kitchen table as usual. He is not an early morning eater. My son walked into the kitchen, with Greyson trailing not far behind him. He looked so cute as always. My son looked at me and said, "Mom, why are you wearing that shirt that looks like a zebra?

I looked at him and said, "Jonathon, I don't really know. It was just on my mind to wear it."

He stood there with a strange look on his face as he started to tell me about them going to a Safari expedition not too far from where they lived this past weekend. He said Greyson got to see and pet so many animals.

He said, "Mom, one of those animals was a zebra, kind of like the stripes on your shirt. Why did you wear that today?"

"Like I said Jonathon, I don't know. I pick out tops I think will amuse Greyson or entertain him."

Greyson come running up to me with the biggest smile and hug. It made my heart so happy as always. Then Jonathon started telling me about Greyson's newest word was Zebra. I was then so happy I wore that shirt for him.

It was getting time for Jonathon to leave for work. He told us that Greyson had learned to open Gus' kennel and let him out by himself. Gus is the Golden Retriever. I noticed Greyson going by his kennel and talking to Gus in his 2 year old talk and saying bye bye to Gus. I guess that just means there is more for us to watch out for!

As Tom and I was preparing to leave Jonathon had Greyson come over and give us hugs and kisses. As we were headed out the door Greyson came out with the word "Zebra".

It was another very good day with our grandson. It is learning more and more each day.

Chapter 20
Prayer for Greyson

By Teri7

This morning I started out my day in prayer as I always try to do. As I was praying and asking the Lord for his help with my grandson, Greyson, it came to my heart what to do. I just laid there and mediated on it.

I know by reading the Bible that we can use olive oil to anoint if we are filled with the spirit of God. I wandered into the kitchen to find my husband, Tom. I politely asked him to take some olive oil with us to Greyson's today. He looked at me, but didn't say anything. As we were getting ready to leave the house I saw him bring it with him. I just looked up and said, "thank you Lord!"

When we reached Greyson's we went in and saw our son getting ready to leave for work. Greyson was so excited to see Mammaw and Pappap. He just kept on hugging me. Believe it or not, I had tears well up in my eyes just being excited that the Good Lord was working on something great for my little grandson. My son finally left and it was just me, Tom, Greyson and the Good Lord.

Tom and I went about taking care of Greyson as we usually do. Tom made breakfast as I kept Greyson occupied playing with his play doh and reading to him. After we cleared the table, Greyson and I went to the den and watched Bubble Guppies. I saw the time and I asked Tom to come into the den with us. He came in and I told him about the olive oil and what I was planning to do.

We joined hands around Greyson and I prayed for Greyson's little eyes and his speech.
Tom looked at me with tears in his eyes. I knew it was time. We all touched the oil and I said a prayer for Greyson. You might think that because there was no big bang or surprise right then that I was disappointed. That was not the case. As the day progressed I saw changes in my life with people I love so much being changed. My heart was so happy.

When I was talking with my son later on that afternoon he was telling me about him and Sha, his wife, spending time with Greyson on his words.

He said, "Mom, can you believe he said red?"

I said, "Jonathon, I can believe anything. That is great son!"

You see not only did Greyson say another word it caused my son and his wife to start prioritizing things with Greyson. They have always been good to him, but sometimes parents don't always want to put their children first. I can see this changing for the better now.

I know there will be many that don't understand this, but that is ok. I do know my Savior and I know that He loves me and He is always ready to help His children out. So if you are struggling today with any situations talk it over with Him and you will feel a lot better and see changes.

If you are reading this and reviewing it would you please say a prayer for my grandson and family. I do say prayers for my fan story friends.

May the Lord bless you all this evening!

Chapter 21
Fun Day with Greyson

By Teri7

The softness of his little hands and his great big warm smile brings such joy to my heart and soul. What grandmother doesn't love that?

When we got to my son's house this morning Greyson was in a really good mood. He had learned two new words this weekend - purple and apple. Well wouldn't you know he did not want to say those words for us this morning. I guess my son and his wife have not figured out that we are not miracle workers! All we can do is work with him and be patient. I know God is working with that little guy.

My son had gotten a report from the doctor's office that his cholesterol was too high. So his mission was to lose some weight. I have tried hard to stick to Subway, but my wants for something else creeps in. I asked if he could eat lunch with us today. Of course he said not today mom. That was that. So we went on about our day enjoying and trying to play with and teach Greyson.

About 11:00ish my son called and asked if we wanted to go to ChuckE Cheese! Of course I did! I went about getting Greyson ready to eat lunch with us and his daddy. Tom and I had him all ready when his daddy got home. The first thing Jonathon wanted to do was get Greyson to say his new words he learned over the weekend. He finally said purple, but not apple. He loves saying bubble, but that is not enough for them. Tom and I followed them to the pizza place. When we pulled up beside them in the parking lot Jonathon got Greyson out of his car seat. His little face was so red. He reached over for my hand to walk with him.

We walked in and found a place to be seated. The ladies there were so nice, but Greyson didn't like it too much. He has gotten to where he is really shy. We ordered our food and I had little Greyson sitting beside me in the booth and his dad. He saw these people beside us and he started to hide his head again. I talked to him and told him they were really nice little girls. He kept his little head down for a little while and finally came up to be with us. He ate a little and then his dad got him some game tokens to play the games with. He was so happy about that. They came back with a lot of tickets to turn into items to receive prizes. My daughter in law showed up to eat with the guys for lunch.

It was a real nice treat for me. I do so enjoy my family and especially my grandson. Thank you Lord for another wonderful day! God bless all that read this.

Author Notes This is not a professional write. It is a write for my grandson some day. Hope you enjoyed reading it. Teri

Chapter 22
Grocery Shopping with Greyson

By Teri7

The day started out at Greyson's house by me talking to his dad, Jonathon. As we walked into the kitchen area Jonathon showed us some items his other grandfather had given him last night.

Greyson had his own little plastic grocery basket with cardboard boxes made for certain kitchen food items.

The items were white milk, chocolate milk, broccoli, mac and cheese, spaghetti, bread, grapes, cabbage and chicken noodle soup. There were a few more items, but my tired mind can't remember them right now.

After Jonathon left for work, Greyson talked Pap Pap into letting him help make his breakfast.

Tom, being the easy type man that he is, agreed. Greyson went running into his playroom and came back lugging a red and blue stool.

He looked up at Pap Pap and said, "Help cook!"

How could anyone say no to those two big brown eyes looking up so sincerely wanting to help?

That would be Tom of course.

They proceeded making Greyson's oatmeal and slicing his banana, but suddenly a change of plans. He did not like the oatmeal and wanted Micky Mouse pancakes.

Of course, that is what Tom and Greyson fixed next. Don't worry, the food did not get thrown away.

Tom always eats Greyson's left overs.

Greyson used to come into the den with me and watch his programs, but now he wants to eat standing on his stool beside Pap Pap.

Of course that had to be fine with me.

Greyson also helped Tom make me a cup of coffee. Tom, being the adult that he is, carried the coffee into the living room to me as Greyson walked right beside him saying, "Look Mam maw!"

After we got through with breakfast I washed up all the dishes and folded up the clothes while Tom and Greyson played in his playroom.

After everything quieted down I had an idea. I walked into the playroom where they were playing and said, "Grey Grey! Mam Maw has something fun for us to do."

His ears perked up and he followed me to the den. I had made a make believe grocery store with all his groceries with the boxes and plastic.

Believe it or not, we even had plenty of plastic bags from the real grocery store.

After he picked out his groceries he placed them in the plastic bag and gave me his pennies to me to give back to Tom.

He was one happy little boy with his brown, plastic bag of groceries. The first think he did was take them to Pap Pap, who helped him put them in the cabinets and refrigerator.

Guess that won't go over very well with his mommy and daddy! lol

This was a wonderful day with Greyson today. He is a growing up little guy full of joy and sunshine every day!

I appreciate all who read and the great input, if necessary. One day I want him to look back at his book and know we loved him so very much.

Chapter 23
Greyson from then to now!

By Teri7

When I think really hard I can go back to a time when Greyson was first born. He was a very cute little baby boy. This is just one of his pictures when he was so very small. He was not skinny, by any means.

I did not get to babysit him when he was small due to the medications I was on. Now at three years old I am so happy to be with him almost every week. He is a true blessing to me.

God touched my life and mind from prescription medication. Now I am a very happy and contented grandmother. Doing what I love to do the most in this world!

Greyson has always had a short attention span, but he is getting better with that every day. When he talks to us if we don't understand him he keeps on until he says enough to where we do know what he is talking about.

I have seen Greyson start out not picking up things as fast as most children would, but that changed. I know many say you have to give it time and we did do that with a lot of prayers.

I will always believe in my heart and soul that God touched Greyson's mind and eyes. He is a very happy three year old that is growing by leaps and bounds.

I give God all the honor and glory in this story. Without the Good Lord things could have ended up really bad. They were talking about autism and I truly believed that at one time.

Chapter 24
Blessings Big and Small!

By Teri7

Today was a great day with Greyson. It's always so nice when we first walk in to hear his sweet little voice say, "Hey Mam maw and Pap pap."

He runs to us with great big hugs and that delightful smile of his. I am so thankful each day I get to spend with him. I love teaching him things and watching him learn.

Today his new set of words was-no idea?

We were sitting, eating breakfast and it dawned on me to call my son, Jonathon. The phone rang once, twice and kept ringing with no answer.

Out loud I said, "Wonder why he didn't answer his phone?"

The next sound I heard was Greyson saying, No idea Mam Maw. No idea!"

I got so tickled I had to call Tom into the room, but he had heard it too. He was laughing really hard.

I cling to the thought that the joy of the Lord is my strength and He shows me that each day. I am so thankful He uses Greyson to help me learn to relax and enjoy life.

The next thing I saw was Greyson walking into the den from the kitchen with his St. Patrick's Day, plastic pot of gold basket.

Not quite sure who put the goodies in there, but he pulled out two little containers of butter.

He looked at me and said in a big person dialogue, "I like butter!"
He had the biggest smile on his face as he said it.

Tom informed me that due to Greyson having the big green basket, like the one he had on Halloween only orange with a black cat on it, he thinks it is Halloween instead of St. Patrick's day.

I remember sitting in the living room and hearing Tom talking to Greyson, asking him some questions. Greyson replied to the question saying, "No way! No way, Pap pap!"

Tom and Greyson went into his play room for a while to play with his toys. I stayed in the living room and kitchen area working on dishes and folding clothes.

Keep in mind they don't ask for help, but being our children we like to help them since they work all week and have a three year old.

After lunch Greyson was sitting at his Paw Patrol table and I was sitting in the recliner.

He is getting really picky about what he watches.

Today he wanted to watch the animated P.J. Masks. When it came on he jumped up out of his seat and walked around in front of the television and started making movements like the characters on P. J. Masks singing the theme song right along with them.

I was shocked at how good he could make the moves they did.

Wow! To be three again with so much energy and limber ability!

We looked at each character as they were introduced. The first one was the green one and they called him Geiko, the blue one was called cat boy and the girl one was red, but have no idea her name.

Believe it or not, neither did Greyson.

We finally got through with watching that and Greyson ate his Elmo meal which had a meat and some carrots. Not sure if he ate it all, but did not hear any different from Tom.

It was getting later in the afternoon and Greyson really wanted to blow bubbles. At first I didn't want to do it, but I gave in. He jumped around, busting all the bubbles. I would try to stop and he would say, "Don't stop, play!" So we kept going for a while longer.

Finally, Greyson and I went back to the living room and put on Mim Mim.

I walked into the kitchen and got his little bag of cookies his mom had fixed for him. Tom had him some apple juice to drink.

The next thing I knew he came over to me and said, "Sit Mam maw."

I was a little unsure of where he wanted to sit. Greyson has not wanted to sit in the chair with me for some time. So I asked him, "Greyson, you want to sit up here with Mam Maw?"

He looked at me with those big brown eyes and said, "Yea, Mam Maw!"

I gladly helped him up into the chair with me. He had his little bag of cookies and I had his Sippy cup with the apple juice for him.

We sat there and watched some of his programs while we waited on his dad to get home.

Finally we heard the Hummer pull into the carport. Greyson did not want to get down, but he did.

We talked with Jonathon for a few minutes and then left for home.

Today when Greyson wanted to get back up in the chair with me was a real big blessing to me. God just keeps on blessing me with the desires of my heart. How can I not trust and love Him?
