Homeless Children and Halloween

Poetry Contest
The topic for this poetry contest is: "Homeless Children and Halloween" Write a poem that somehow incorporates the topic. The poem does not have to be specifically about the topic and creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
My community will be conducting a drive during October to obtain donations of articles that will be useful to homeless children who are in a shelter; warm clothing, toys, diapers, school supplies, bedding and blankets. If entrants agree we will post the poems entered on a community blog to inspire and remind people to donate before the end of October. The theme for the Drive is "Trick or Treat for the homeless. The trick is obtaining the dough for the donation. The treat is the feeling you will get after donating generously." The Shelter we are collecting for is a named Have for Hope.
Entries for the contest should be submitted in accordance with Fan Story procedures. Entries for which I have permission to post on a blog should be messaged to me: Preston McWhorter.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Thursday, October 31, 2013.
