Famous Literary Characters Verse

Poetry Contest
The topic for this poetry contest is: Famous Literary Characters, in the Genre of Mystery and Crime. In your author notes, please indicate the original author who served as your inspiration. Here are some classic examples:
Perry Mason as created by Erle Stanley Gardner
Nancy Drew as created by Mildred Wirt Benson (the original Carolyn Keene)
The Hardy Boys as created by Franklin W. Dixon/Edward Stratemeyer
Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Hercule Poirot as created by Agatha Christie

Write a poem that somehow incorporates the topic. Creative, humorous approaches are welcomed. Any point of view is accepted, whether from the reader' point of view, the author's point of view, the character's point of view, or even the character's sidekick's or opponent's point of view. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner. ANY POETRY FORM IS ACCEPTABLE, BUT there is a MINIMUM of 5 lines, with no more than 80 lines. Poetic devices and phrases unique to the author's style or character would be a definite bonus.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 50.00 member dollars. There are 8 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
