History of Man in 30 Words!
In exactly thirty (30) words (no more, no less), write a poem or prose statement about the history of man, the world, civilization or any significant era therein. It may be laugh-out-loud funny, sardonic, deeply thoughtful, or anything in between. Be creative! Try to make every word count! Only use the Author's Notes to thank the F/S artist whose picture you used (although a picture is not necessary) or define a word your readers may have trouble with. Other than that, you are on your own to have fun with this challenge.
Here's are "rough" examples of a poem and prose:
Example 1:
Let there be light!
Naked sapiens,
hiding in shadows, emerge as tribe.
Steam, steel, battle screams,
fashions, buildings, neon light.
Folks complaining disappear,
missiles launched in starry night--
Lights out!
Example 2:
The Industrial Age placed many in acrid, cement cages. Today's Communication Age locks many in different cages--texting away, glorifying mundane ease; while workers, far away, toil within dark walls.
Reviewers are asked to rate on creativity, impact, and adherence to the 30 word requirement. You should not base your rating on whether you agree or disagree with the content (you are free to skip it).
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Saturday, February 25, 2012.
