Micro Fiction

Write a short flash fiction story based on one only of the given prompts.

The challenge of flash fiction is to write an entertaining story within a set number or range of words. Every word used should be essential to the setting, conflict, and resolution of the story. The over-riding principle for flash fiction is: minimum words, maximum effect.

Choose one only of the following prompts and write a flash fiction story of between 100 and 110 words. The story cannot be all dialogue; at least 10% narrative is required. The genre is your choice.

Prompts to choose from:

Knights in white satin
An unnamed horse
Pixies, camps, and leaves
Pale white shades
Crying in Argentina

Note: Author Notes are not permitted, except to explain the contest requirements and reveal the prompt you chose.

Minimum length 100 words. Maximum Length 110 words. Recommended length 100 - 110 words.


The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
