Memory of the Titanic

Never Won A Contest
The Titanic was said to be unsinkable, yet in 1912, on her maiden voyage, she sank after colliding with an ice-berg two hours before the final plunge. Your challenge is to write an account as though you were on the Titanic nearly a hundred years ago. The story must begin moments before the ships collision with the ice-berg. If you have family and you don't survive, then change the narrator of the story to your wife/husband or children, how will they carry on with their lives? If you survive, then you may wish to describe what it was like on the rescue ship Carpathia and the feeling once you finally reach New York.
The choice of the number of words in your story is up to you, but make sure that its not too long. Good luck!
This is a Winless contest. Only authors that have never won first place may enter.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 45.00 member dollars. There are 9 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
