Poetry Contest
Star Trek, the tv series, debuted September 8, 1966. This poetry will celebrate the ORIGINAL series.
Write a Rhymed POEM of 12-20 lines.
NO: sonnets or free verse
NO : music OR animation
Artwork of your choice but ONLY ONE selection/color scheme your choice
THIS CONTEST IS FOR THE ORIGINAL SERIES ONLY. DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING ABOUT THE BIG SCREEN MOVIES OR ANY SPIN-OFFS FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES.
Poem may be about a favorite character, favorite episode, general feelings etc.
It may NOT be a poem that is negative about the series in any way.
If you select to write about an episode, please do NOT explain in detail in your author notes--the poem should do that. You may name the episode and add 2 sentences about it in your notes--total author notes not to exceed 4 sentences 2 of which may be about the episode.
Author notes are permitted but not more than 4 sentences.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 35.00 member dollars. There are 11 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
