The time and place is ancient China. The dynasties are warring and divided. The Empress wishes to create cohesion and have all the areas under the banner of the Empress, under one flag. She sends her emissaries to the far flung reaches of China to achieve this. One young soldier is posted for 5 years to the eastern border. He strongly wishes not to go because he has a love who he hopes to marry. He knows the Empress is of kind heart and has a sentimental side. He writes a letter to appeal to her kind nature and excuse him from going away. You are this man. Write a letter to the Empress.
