Write a Nature Haiku using a news event. It can be local news, national news or world news.

Write it in 17 syllables or less (short-long short format)
Must have a kigo (seasonal reference)
Two connecting lines of concrete imagery
An aha or satori line of reflection
Title must be haiku (first line of poem)
No rhyme
No Art, your poem should paint the picture.
Black text on white background only
This is a Winless contest. Only authors that have not won first place in 60 days may enter.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 12.00 member dollars. There are 15 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
