News Paper Article
The topic for this contest is: News Paper Article
Write a story that somehow incorporates the topic. The story has to be specifically about the topic and it also requires a picture that must go along with the story.
Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
No word length
You are a journalist working for a famous News Paper, one in your area, who still publish all their additions on paper. These are not released to the internet because it does not exist in this time period.
You must write a news paper article about one of the following situations using the 'correct' rules for such writing. There is no rules about how many words you must use or not use; however, keep in mind your article will be front page news. It needs a picture to go along with the story. So, the picture and the article 'must' match.

You fill in the blanks to make each of the possible articles work for your news headline...I am just giving you the set up you add in all the details in your story to make it news worthy.
For example: Was the victim male or female, were they alone when it happened, did anyone see the crime? Be realistic!
1. There was a murder in your area last night and the victim was found by the creek dead with teeth marks on their neck just like vampires leave. But in the real world vampires do not exist. This means you have to find a different explanation for the teeth marks.
2. The local bar in town featured a new nude dancer who was male. This has never been done before. You attended the show and now have to do an article about the public?s reaction to the new dancer.
3. A huge blizzard is heading towards your town and it is advised that everyone leave before it hits. You need to tell a story to the readers about why they have to leave because of the blizzard.
4. The local school just added a new classroom for students with physical and mental disorders who do not attend this school on a regular basis. Many parents are against this addition saying it will give their school a bad name to have this type of student in attendance. Write an article about the change. It's up to you how you do it.
5. Choose your own article about a subject you are interested in that is news worthy, perhaps in your area or is interesting to you, and tell us about it.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 10.00 member dollars. There are 13 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 36.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
