My Precious Puppy
Poetry Contest
Write a poem in any style that revolves around a puppy. Be as creative as your imagination allows. For all of those that complain about being beat by a puppy poem, you are going to be beat by a puppy poem- AGAIN! Unless, you win! As long as your poem is about a puppy it won't be disqualified. Yes, it can be a mutant puppy from outer space, but that isn't precious.
These old bitter meanies that complain about our cute puppy poems can sit this one out. They can write some deep, boring metaphors about the human condition and grumble about the hopelessness of life 'till their heart's content. We're gonna write about our adorable, precious puppies!
The rules are simple: Write a poem in any style about your puppy. If your puppy is grown up, then pretend he's a puppy. If you have a kitten, pretend that it's a puppy. If you have no puppy you might pretend your spouse is a puppy, but remember, this should be happy and uplifting! You could write about someone else's puppy if you've been deprived of a puppy yourself, but it better make us warm and gooey inside.
Artwork is recommended, especially adorable pictures of cute puppies. Adding darling children to the puppy pictures is effective. It doesn't have to enhance or compliment the story, it has to be cute and pull at the readers heartstrings. Music, video, concerts in the park and any other means of setting your piece apart from the others is encouraged. The poem itself can be well-written, but that is secondary.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
