To clarify, the "BINGO!?" line was a nod to the implied reveal of the date?s location, which couldn't be fully detailed due to the half-dialogue format.
While the portrayal is a bit heightened for narrative effect, this piece was partly inspired by fondly remembered conversations with my late grandmother. Who, believe it or not, despite not knowing a GPS from a selfie, went on dates!

This is an amazing job on writing half a conversation we can understand, and slowly you are revealing to us that the individual on the other end is older, as she is way out of touch with culture. Grandma got some game!

This was such an enjoyable story. I loved the way my imagery of the conversant in the other half changed as I read on. I pictured a contemporary, then someone a little older--like an older neighbor--then with Bingo, I started getting the hint so, by the end, I knew it would be grandma, but it was still so funny because then I pictured a swinging grandma, young at heart. This is an excellent entry for the competition and certainly deserves the win. Congrats!
