I am Bananas about bananas

Always loved eating them

Very good in my smoothie

Kefir,  morning cereal,

Oatmeal,  or weekly pancakes.

Even in a peanut nut butter sandwich

Or as the key fruit

In the classic banana split

Bananas go well with everything.

But lately, I have had to cut back

As the banana is a high Glicimic fruit

Bad for a pre-diabetic diet.

But the lowly green plantain

So common in the Caribbean

And Southeast Asia

Not so much.

I mean you have to peel them

Then fried them up

Preferably with coconut oil

Then one can eat them.

Otherwise, they are wasted food item

Another food item that might go bad

In your refrigerator.
