I am so glad to read this piece about Jay. I'm glad he's doing well, but I must say that I sorely miss him here on the site. He has always been such a big help to me ever since I joined in 2014. It is wonderful to know what Jay is up to. when he wrote me that he wasn't renewing his FS subscription, he added that it was a temporary thing and that he expected to be back in about 6 months. I guess that has gone by the wayside if he's enjoying Medium as much as you infer. The only change to this post I would like to see is a clearer impression of what Medium actually is. You have left us wanting more on that front, kay

Kay, thank you for the six stars for Jay. I didn't go into a lot of detail about Medium because it is big and a bit complicated compared to FS. But it's also a writing venue with a different focus than FS. When they have a million members it is surprising they have some great writers and stories. Jay may be back, I hope so. He has read the reviews, and there no question he misses the people here. Terry.

Twenty-three bucks? Holy Cow. You hit the gold mine. Drinks on Terry! Half an hour looking into Medium was all it took to inform my decision. I'll just have to be satisfied writing on FS and for the Senior's Centre Golden Opportunities newsletter lobbying the government with CARP for discounts on coffee at the A&W for mall walkers. Some old people love carping about trivial things so it's a good match. We enjoy a cheap brew at the Double You before going into London Drugs en masse to do some shoplifting.
You know they're on to you when they start locking up the once a day baby Aspirins. I'm surprised The Rolling Stones haven't come out with a song about what a drag it is getting old; something along the lines of Grandma's Little Helper.
Excellent shout out to one of my favourite FanStorians, Jay Squires. I still remember the time he chastised me ever so nicely for calling him Sir. He said it made him feel old. Fair enough, but you tell him every writer worth their salt ALWAYS wears a black turtleneck for publicity photos. It's all part of the image thang plus the contrast makes white hair shine like a mane of pure gold.

Tom, thank you for reading. Medium is a big place, but its not for everyone. I don't want to work that hard. It's not unfriendly, but it's a tough nut to crack, at least for me. Terry
