Story Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt Write a 10-line rhyming poem involving a talking tree and a curious owl. The rhyme scheme will be AABBCCDDEE. |
According to Legend, Poseiden, wanting to gain Athens' worship, smashed his trident on the ground and created a salt spring as a gift to the city. Athena, goddess of wisdom, gave a more productive gift by planting an olive tree atop the Acropolis and won the hearts of the citizens. She was always accompanied by her small owl, Glauca, (Athene noctua), who was an advisor and protector. The olive tree still stands there today. Greece was the birthplace of Democracy.
