hoc opus, hic labor est

by EeanBlack

The lamp is lit

The wheels are turning

The paper is ready

My soul is yearning

To liberate a thought

To collect it's earning

The torment's been brought

The bridges are burning

The life of a creator

hoc opus, hic labor est
(this is the toil)

To collect it's earning for me is the acknowledgement from other writers. The torment is the anguish it causes to express things never knowing if they will be accepted as competent work, especially poetry. The bridges are burning refers to the solitary life of any creative person. I'm a hack, but some of you guys are brilliant.
