Well Debi, your talents are endless. I think we all knew that, but you have radically confirmed our very strong suspicion! You can write creatively about anything and make it rhyme! I'm not 100% sure but I think my favorite special day is found in your poem and also in your authors note. 4. National Hairball awareness day- last Friday in January.

You are too kind, Dan. I don't know how much is true, but it is a good brother that is always being so sweet. Thank you for the very kind comments for this internally rhymed poem. It was fun to do and I could have gone on and on, but then it would have been too much. Thanks for the lovely six stars too, bro. I appreciate it so much. Love, Debi

This was such a sweet idea to remind us that some days have a lovely purpose, some not so much. I really need to celebrate April 23 in hopes his ghost will make me a better poet, although I'll never be so creative as you.

Hi Carol, fiddlesticks, sweetie. I have read some of your lovely work and you are not only a great writer but very creative too.

I thank you for the fun review and comments. I could have added a hundred more easily but I had to draw the line somewhere. I was afraid of people getting tired of hearing anymore. Thanks for having some fun with me on this one, my dear friend. Love, Debi

Your poem made me chuckle as you enumerated so many National Days. I used to write for a magazine that celebrated many of those strange and wonderful days, so you took me down memory lane for a bit. National Spinach Day, National Scrabble Day, and World Peace Day were some of my favorites. Hugs! Carol

Hi Debi, a fun poem. Sometimes, we all need to turn off the news and just "hear" the music, or simply talk to the people around us. I'm in favor of a National Nothing day. Lovely photo choice. Xo. M

Yes, we do need to step away from the news, but turning if off could get us into trouble when you live in some men's houses. LOL.

Yes. A nothing day would be fun to see what my sis would do with it. Hmmm, cook, bake, take care of kids.... should I name some more nothings? Haha! Thanks for the sweet comment, my dear SOTU. Love ya!! Debi

Haha! QC. I know what you mean. As fun as I meant this to be, it was a little bit of poking fun at how every day on so many sites had a celebration for something. LOL

My goodness, but you find the best pictures ever. That photo looked magical. I really wanted to be there.

The words were interesting and captivating as well. You made me wonder if anyone still owns a VCR. My kids do not even know what that is. Ha!

Good stuff.

Hi Douglas, yes, that picture represented what is mostly make believe, which is what most of these silly days were about.

Love this artwork that takes us along the path to some of these strange National Days. I too am a middle child and August 12th was my Dad's birthday, so a double celebration day. Enjoyed this fun poem Debi,
well done.

This is a fun poem that should brighten anyone's day. Your research turned up some really ridiculous days to celebrate, like Nothing Day, and Have a Bad Day. I really laughed at Fruit Cake Toss Day, because many people dislike fruit cake.

This was really generous of you to share something to lift spirits, like the beautiful butterflies you've sent me. Sally Law mentioned Earth Angels in her poem, and you are surely an Earth Angel to many FanStorians.

Wow, thank you for the sweetest words, but you know that I feel that you are one of my treasured Earth Angels. Yes, Sally was so sweet with her post too, and she was very kind to write that.

I wrote this after hearing that Iran had attacked Israel and I know I wasn't the only one who felt sick for all they have endured so I went searching to find something positive and light-hearted, and if I pray about it, God always delivers.

Thanks for all your kind words and I appreciate them with all my heart, my dear friend. I know that you are going on a year in a few months since your sister passed, so I have been saying extra prayers for you. I know how it feels and I hate to see a loved one hurt. Please take care of yourself.
Lotsa love, my dear dear friend. Debi

You should've written this fifty years ago (but you weren't born then, I know!) It would've made a great Monty Python sketch, along with the Ministry of Silly Walks and The Villag Idiot contest. If these don't ring a bell, forget it! It was long ago!

Wow, that is is a lot of days. I wonder how many of the are acknowledged but not actually celebrated. I'll bet everyday is some kind of a special day. I enjoyed reading your colorful poem about all of thses days.

Hi Beth, I don't think too many acknowledge but I think they are there to have some fun with.
