This is about love, lost, new love, and lost again.
Empty Heart
by Lakeshia Richardson
Our story begins as a love story. Just two kids trying to find their way. My heart I gave to you freely because you were everything to me. However, you were not ready for the life that I had always dreamed of, my fairy tale. Instead, you needed to free yourself from the restrictions that the parental unit placed on you. I did not understand at the time because my heart was broken, and I thought there was no repair in sight. My mind told me I needed closure, but what resulted was a second chance. The betrayal this time was more intense than the heartbreak. Now as real adults, we share something that is beautiful and unbreakable. We share a friendship, a true friendship people only dream of. We love each other deeply in the most beautiful way. Then you found love again, leaving me alone, lost, and empty.
